Let the Sunshine In

"Seriously Gramma?  I'm not ready to
present the awards yet!"
Have you noticed anything cheery and bright on my sidebar?  Last week, my blogger buddy Carrie Johnson from PawedBlog gave me a beautiful Sunshine Award.  Thanks you so much Carrie!  For anyone who is not familiar with her great blog, you are missing some wonderful posts.  She is also starting a UK handmade dog accessories business.  Since she has Myfie the Westie, I know my granddog Pierre will be stylin’ and profilin’ as soon as she is up and running!  Carrie will have collars designed for all breeds and personalities.  We meshed right away since she is crazy in love with her dogs too!

"I'm kinda busy but don't panic.
I always keep my tux handy
for emergencies!"
She explained the lack of sunshine in the U.K. leads her
and other UK bloggers to find alternate sources of sunshine.  Carrie then awarded her Sunshine award to bloggers that brought sunshine to her day.  How nice is that?!  The other great thing is that I get to pass the award to other bloggers that let the sunshine in on me.  Yippee!
I have had the privilege of passing on The Liebster, the award of Excellence, and the Best Blog around the World to some of my favorite bloggers.  Of course, I follow so many awesome blogs that it is very hard to select just a few.  After much mulling, I have decided on six feel-good blogs.  The great thing about this award is that you don’t have to declare any unknown facts.  All you have to do is smile and pass it to some other Sunshiny blog.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our Sunshine Award
recipients are..."

1.     Love is being owned by a Husky ~ Jenna is a new blogger like myself and we help each other almost daily.  Did you notice my spiffy new Pinterest paw?  Thank you, Jenna.  When I comment on your blog, notice the new signature at the end of my comments.  That was Jenna, too!  She is a great friend and an awesome Husky mom!  (Also, a great mom to her two-legged children and a number of cats)  She definitely brings sunshine to my day!
2.    Jan’s Funny Farm ~ Jan and her Funny Farm, which consist of three dogs and five cats are a must-read for me.  The pets often write the blog and they are hilarious!  I try to drop by her blog each day for a guaranteed smile and laugh!  Be sure to drop by the Funny Farm for a dose of sunshine and humor!
3.    Tales & Tails ~ Carrie Noar has either the best-behaved Greyhounds or the patience of a saint.  Her blog features the most gorgeous photos of her dogs modeling a host of fashionable doggie couture.  She has adopted several of her Greyhounds after their racing career.  She also has two German Shepherds in her canine family.  If you need inspiration for taking awesome photos of your fur baby, visit Tales & Tails.  Carrie and her beautiful Greyhound models will bring a sunshiny smile to you each day.
4.    For Love of a Dog ~ Sue Kottwitz along with her three dogs Jeffie, Rudy, and Rosie are a busy group.  They don’t just write a blog, Talking Dogs but Sue makes the most gorgeous pet jewelry that I have ever seen!  If you are a pet parent or know one (who doesn’t?) do yourself a favor and shop with Sue.  You’ll find what you’re looking for and in the breed you love.  Between Sue’s blog, jewelry, and farm life you are guaranteed a ray of sunshine straight to your heart!
5.    Slimdoggy ~ Stephen Pelletier along with Kate and a team of really smart people are behind the Slimdoggy blog and Slimdoggy app.  If you have any questions about dog food or fitness, this is the only stop that you need to make!  Their blog is a virtual smorgasbord of dog information.  They have two dogs Jack and Maggie who are both prime examples of healthy, fit, and happy dogs.  The phone app keeps track of your dog’s activities and food consumption to help you manage their weight.  You can try their app on my sidebar to see where you stand in the dog food department.  Slimdoggy works hard to get pet people out in the sunshine, eating healthy and getting fit.

6.    Ruckus the Eskie ~ Ruckus and his human do a terrific job entertaining us with great posts and host two of my favorite hops.  Ruckus is responsible for the Sepia Saturday Blog Hop.  I absolutely love sepia photography and thanks to Ruckus, I get to enjoy some fabulous photos every Saturday.  Ruckus also co-hosts Thoughtless Thursday with my friend Jenna from Love is being owned by a Husky!  You will be amazed at Ruckus the Eskie’s tricks, impressed by his reviews, and thrilled with all of the pawsome giveaways.  Thank you for making our days brighter and our Saturday’s sepia-er!

Congratulations to my six Sunshine recipients!  I appreciate the time and effort you each put into your blogs.  They are making me a better blogger, pet mom, photographer, and adding some Sunshine to every day!

  6. Congratulations on receiving the award and thank you for sharing it. We're in good company.

One correction, though. It's our blog, so we always write it. :)

We like your signature with the comments. We'll have to find out how to do that so we can start signing ours.

  7. Congratulations on your award! Luckily we have lots of sunshine in our cold winters. Living in Europe it was always so grey and depressing, so we totally understand your UK buddy! TGIF!
