Opt to Adopt a Shelter Dog

We are proud to be joining Dogs ‘N Pawz and Talking Dogs for Tuesday’s Tails.  This blog hop focuses on adoptable shelter pets in the hope of finding a home for them.  Please share these adorable dogs on your social media.
I also wanted to tell you about the book I mentioned last week.  Diesel the Shelter Pup was written by one of the hosts of Tuesday Tails, Lisa Brown.  It is such a sweet story of how Diesel became a member of their family.  It is filled with great photos of the little Plott Hound mix.  You will enjoy this quick read and it is a great tale to share with children.  They will learn to empathize with the plight of homeless pets.  Don’t be surprised if your little one urges you to adopt and not shop when it’s time to add a furry bundle to your family.  I gave Diesel the Shelter Pup a 5 star review and if you download a copy, I am sure that you will too.

I am featuring dogs that have previously been featured, but for some reason they have still not found a fur-ever home.  The reason is that some of the dogs at the shelter are not what experts consider “adoptable.”  They are mixed breeds and may not be considered beautiful.  Please remember that being loved makes every dog beautiful in its owner’s eyes.  These are the ones that may bark when you pass; some play a little rough, don’t get along with other dogs, or are simply seniors.  Some of them have been at PetSavers for years!

In an effort to encourage adoptions of these often-overlooked souls, the people at PetSavers are offering an $85 voucher for vet care.  This offer is good for two years and available May 2 thru May 9th.  I think you will agree with me that no puppy should spend their entire life in a shelter.  If you are interested in these or any other dogs on Petsavers website, please contact them today.  (318) 636-0400.

  5. All of my pets came from shelters or rescue organizations. In fact, both Jasper and Lilah came from a shelter in Louisiana and were transported to New Jersey where I adopted them.
