Adoptable Senior Dogs

BlogPaws has named August as “Aging Pets Appreciation” month.  The dogs we have today on Tuesday’s Tails are senior dogs looking for a good home.  There isn’t much sadder than seeing a beautiful loving senior dog without a home to call their own.  We are joining Dogs ‘n Pawz and Talking Dogs for their weekly blog hop with many great shelter pets all needing forever families.  Please share all of their photos on your social media.  No animal should grow old alone.

The dogs pictured below are available at PetSavers in Shreveport.  You can contact the no-kill shelter at (318) 636-0400.  *The shot icon means the dog is up-to-date on all vaccines.

  1. Oh...it is so sad that there are so many seniors in shelters and rescues. My heart goes out to them all. This is a reason I cannot do rescue. I would end up with a houseful...and no husband.

  3. I cross my paws for all seniors who need a home. I hope there are a lot of people who would like to share their crib and their heart with an older dog or cat.

  6. Hope all of you are in your 4-ever home real soon. I live with other seniors too. I have a 16-year-old sister and her two 14-year-old daughters and her 10-year-old daughter. Me and brudder Max (DaOdderWeenie) are also 10 years old. Seniors are the greatest! (Have to say that cause Mommy and Daddy are seniors too..BOL)

  8. Such sweet faces! It makes us sad to see senior animals (or any animal for that matter) without a home to call their own. Wish we could take them all in!

  10. I will never understand how people can give up an older dog - I have been lucky to have all my dogs live long happy lives and some of them have become quite the characters as they got older - how could you miss out on that :)

  13. It breaks our hearts to see older dogs (and people) all alone. We sure hope they find homes soon and that it is for the last time!

  15. Oh, look at those sweet babies. I hope they find their furever homes soon. At the shelter where I volunteer, someone came in the other day specifically looking for a senior - but we didn't have any! Here's to folks who go looking for seniors to adopt!
