Bentley: “Welcome to BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News. I’m Bentley and along with my co-anchor, Pierre, we bring you the news you and your pet need to know. Our news this week runs the gamut, so let’s get right to our top story. Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day in America. We salute all of our veterans and their four-legged comrades. Pierre?”
Pierre: “Thanks Bentley. You know how much I love our military veterans. Do you know who else loves them? It’s an organization named K9s for Warriors. They are dedicated to providing service canines to warriors that are suffering from PTSD and/or traumatic brain injury because of their time in the military. Our veterans may return from war, but it is hard to leave the war behind. I can’t imagine anything scarier than a war zone.”
Bentley: “The goal of the K9s For Warriors is to give a new “leash” on life to rescue dogs and military heroes by empowering warriors to return to their civilian life with both dignity and independence. If that isn’t awesome enough, the dogs used as K9s for Warriors are rescues! You can read more and learn how you can help by clicking the link in resources.”
Pierre: “Here is an unusual story. It seems that naturalist and wildlife filmmaker Paul Rosolie will become dinner for a green anaconda. He will be wearing a “snake-proof” suit with a long tail that can be used to pull him back out of the belly of the beast. The snake took seven men to hold it. That is bigger than the one Nicki Minaj sings about! *chuckle~snort Anyway, if giant snakes eating a human counts as entertainment to you, “Eaten Alive” airs on the Discovery Channel on December 7th.”
Bentley: “In the famous words of Jim Stafford, I don’t like spiders and snakes! I apologize for those of you who will now have that song stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Here is something else that I don’t think I’d like to see. The first Afghan Fanged Deer was spotted in Afghanistan in over 60 years. Even though I don’t want to see one, it is super cool that the research team in the northeast part of the country spied them.”
Pierre: “I’m sure they’ve been hiding from humans. The poor deer were so skittish the team did not get a photo. They spotted a male, and then saw a female with her juvenile deer before seeing a lone female. I don’t blame them for being scared. Their scent glands are a high-ticket item on the black market. It can fetch $20,000 per pound. Stay well-hidden Fanged-Deer.”
Bentley: “Here is a great story about someone being seen after a nearly eight–year absence. A man in Denver was stunned when he received a phone call from the Fulton County Animal Shelter in Atlanta. The woman from the shelter told him they had his dog. After a count of his dogs, he told her she must be mistaken. When she asked if he had a dog named Jordan, he couldn’t believe it. Jordan went missing one morning almost a decade ago as a puppy.”
Pierre: “That’s right. Thanks to his microchip, Jordan was finally reunited with his person. That is what I call a happy ending and proof that we should never lose faith. Speaking of faith, I see Blogville has placed theirs in the Doodle brothers, Murphy and Stanley. In a moving acceptance speech, the Mayors-Elect announced members of their cabinet.”
Bentley: “It’s a great group too. Blogville is in very capable paws. The first appointment was Dory to become City Manager. After the great campaign it stands to reason, they will work great together. Click here to discover the rest of the Doodle Brothers’ official appointments.”
Pierre: “I’m not usually stoked about an election but I have to say the turnout was incredible. Sarge did a great job at the polls and Mayoress Madi was timely with the announcement. Humans could learn so much from the way things work in Blogville; it is always a great day. Speaking of great days; how’s the weather across our country?”
Bentley: “That was a cool segue. The weather will be cool; actually, it is going to be downright frigid over most of the U.S. Predictions range from way below freezing up north to the low 30s her in the bayou. Maybe I should say the brrr-ayou! Everyone snuggle up with someone you love and you can keep warm by drinking some of The Honest Kitchen’s Winter Warmers.”
Pierre: “Now, that sounds like a cozy plan. We love our Winter Warmers. Be sure to visit us the rest of the week for some fun reviews, giveaways, and more. Do you have anything else to add?”
Bentley: “Of course, I want to wish everybody a fantastic week. Give a special thanks to all of our military veterans and military K9s for being awesome. Be sure to grab yourself some happy!”
