Bentley: “Welcome to BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News for Monday December 8, 2014. We are still recovering from my amazing birthday party last week. I’d like to thank each of you publicly for the warm wishes. It touched my Hound dog heart. I’d like to invite each of you to enter my Favorite Things giveaway with a dozen great products. *whispers: “Y’all can get extra entries by retweeting each day. See our Current Giveaways tab Ahem, Pierre what news have you sniffed for our viewers?”
Pierre: “In keeping with our good news for December theme, I am happy to report that the trial of the “Crying Elephant” has been decided. Raju the elephant has been shackled and abused his entire life. He was rescued and re-homed to Wildlife SOS sanctuary. When his shackles were removed for the first time, his rescuers noticed tears falling from his eyes. A judge ruled that Raju must remain at the sanctuary where he can roam free and take a dip in the water any time.”
Bentley: “That is awesome. Elephants should never have to live in shackles or cages. That reminds me to tell our readers that we strongly urge them not to buy puppies from a pet store this Christmas. Personally, I won’t even go into a pet store that sells dogs. Those adorable little fluffs are usually from puppy mills. You can read more about this in our “How much is that puppy in the window post.” Click here.”
Pierre: “Buying a puppy for Christmas is a super sweet idea. The reality of it is usually a disaster. Christmas is such an exciting time for children that if you are planning to add a puppy to the family, wait until the excitement of the big day passes. Never, ever, ever give someone a pet as a surprise for Christmas. We will be publishing a post on both of these subjects in the coming days.”
Bentley: “I was an unwelcomed surprise gift. Fortunately, I ended up with Mom and Dad. Most surprise pups wind up at the shelter. Christmas has many temptations for dogs and cats too. Do you have that list that Santa sent to us?”
Pierre: “Bentley! You totally revealed my source! He asked that we keep his identity hidden. He is so busy reading lists these days that he can’t be writing to everyone. Anyway…I have it from a very reliable source at the North Pole that Santa wants to make sure all of us pets stay safe. I am not ashamed to say that I have whacked an ornament or two around in my day. They make them so shiny; it is hard to resist.”
Bentley: “I apologize for name-dropping. Since I already have though, here are a couple of more. In Blogville, our margarita-mixing Airedale Ruby, has opened up Blogville’s very first dating service. She is opening at a great time since Dory’s big birthday and Christmas party is being held on December 26th. Ruby has gone from mixing drinks to mixing couples. You go girlfriend! I have my Emma, but I’ll refer some dogs I know.”
Pierre: “In sports, if you live in the bayou area, you can attend the Insane Inflatable 5K. It will benefit the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. It takes place this Saturday, December 13th at L.S.U.S. If you haven’t heard of an Insane Inflable, you owe it to yourself to check it out here. Gramma is going to be there and she’ll have a report next week. If you are interested in participating, click here. If you’d love to help at the event, click here.”
Bentley: “You know what else takes place on December 13th? It is our one-year blogiversary. That is the day I announce the winner of my giveaway. It looks as if we will have sunny skies for the 5k race and the blogiversary. Our friends in the northeast will be seeing a wintery mix. All along the northern states, y’all are going to be cold.”
Pierre: “Oh, before we sign off are we going to tell our readers about two more of your prizes?”
Bentley: “We have a special section below for today’s spotlight sponsors. Until next week, this is Bentley along with Pierre saying stay safe and be sure to grab yourself some happy this week.”
Great sponsors make Bentley’s Favorite Things Giveaway possible. Each day we present two for your drooling pleasure. I wish each of you could win, because these are awesome.
Silver Paws Pet Tags are incredible durable. Bentley is rough on his tags. He has worn his continually for six months and it still looks brand new. His other tags never lasted two months with being scratched. Read our review here. It is an amazing pet tag.
Smooches from The Honest Kitchen are a favorite treat here on the bayou. They are delicious heart-shaped cookies that Bentley likes served as his bedtime treat. Of course, he likes them for a wake-up bite, lunch snack, etc. He says every dog deserves Smooches. Read what else he thinks in our review.
