BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News 1-5-15

It's our first live remote with Paisley.
Bentley: “Happy New Year and welcome to the first newscast of 2015.  We are looking forward to fifty-two terrific weeks of bringing you the best news that we nose.  I’m Bentley and this is my co-anchor, Pierre.  You’ll notice that we have our newest member of the BFTB News Team on a live remote.  This is Paisley, our Lab trainee in the field.  She will join us here in the studio when she gets a little older.  How is 2015 treating you so far, my friend?”
Paisley: “Hi Bentley!  Hiya Pierre!  Can you guys really hear me?  How do I look on camera?  Hi Mom!  Hi Dad!  Look, I’m on the news!”  *paw waves  How are you Pierre?  I wanna go play now!
Pierre: “No complaints here.  I made it through the holidays still looking fabulous.  I don’t think I gain an ounce and may have even dropped a pound.  You can’t tell, because I wear my hair big.  It’s the south and that’s how we roll.  Anyway, speaking of losing weight, did you see the story of Obie?  He’s a dog that weighed 77 lbs. a couple of years ago.  That’s not so bad if you’re a German Shepherd, but if you are a Dachshund like Obie, it is a whole lot!  Poor guy was being fed only human food and looked like a beached whale.  No offense meant.  A nice vet tech woman adopted him from the elderly couple and put him on a strict kibble diet and now he weighs a handsome 23 lbs.  Obie had to have skin removal surgery due to his dramatic weight loss.  The dog has his own calendar this year.  That’s what happens when you cut back on the trips to the kitchen and add the exercise.”
Bentley: “Yes, hanging out in the kitchen can lead to trouble.  Just ask Sarah Palin.  The former Governor is in hot water for allowing her six-year old son, who suffers from Downs Syndrome, to use the family dog as a stepping stool to reach their kitchen sink.  Apparently, she didn’t see the boy’s sign for “up” and he took it upon himself to use the dog as a booster step.  Not a good idea, but it’s an even worse idea to take a photo of the event and post it online.  It’s important to really look at a pic before sharing it with the world.”
Pierre: “That’s true.  The internet can be a double-edged sword.  People get themselves in trouble, but it can also be used for good things.  Take the story of Tucker the pot-bellied pig in Virginia.  He is an internet star, but his neighbors are not fans.  His family has been asked to move from the neighborhood.  It seems that to have a pig, even one that lives inside and is a companion pet, you must live on a home zoned as a farm.  Hopefully, more internet exposure will lead to Tucker being able to stay with his family.”
Bentley: “I guess the neighbor has never heard the old saying “Home is where the hog is.”  If Tucker isn’t rooting around in the neighbor’s yard, I don’t see a problem.  Now, what IS a problem is defrauding the public.  A circus in Italy was charged with fraud after the officials discovered several Chow dogs had been colored and were being passed off as Panda Bears.  The circus was charging patrons for having their photos made with the “pandas.”  That’s really unbearable!”  *snicker
Pierre: “Here are 10 words that Lake Superior State University have found unbearable in their 40th Annual List of Banished Words.  (1) Bae
(2) Polar Vortex (3) Hack (4) Skill Set (5) Swag (6) Foodie (7) Curated (8) Takeaway (9) Enhanced Interrogation (10) Cra-cra  That’s an interesting list.  I have to say that I only use a couple of those and cra-cra is not one of them.”

Bentley: “I love swag.  If we quit saying it, we may quit getting it and that will never do!  Let’s put “At the end of the day.” on the list and leave swag in the loop.  Oh, swag reminds me of something important.  BlogPaws is announcing their 2015 Conference Speaker today!  You can click here to find out as soon as they post the information.  Mom is an Ambassador for this year’s conference.  She’s really excited to find out the name and the special surprise news!  I’m going with her this year.  Woo Hoo!”
Pierre: “This is such an exciting week from BlogPaws to Blogville!  Don’t forget the inauguration of our friends, Murphy and Stanley, as mayors happens this Friday.  Click here to see last week’s broadcast of events.  As always, you can count on us to bring you any behind the screens mischief.”
Paisley: “Are y’all going to throw it back to me?  Let me do the weather.  A cute weathergirl is bound to raise your ratings.  Just sayin’.”
Bentley: “Here with this week’s BFTB weather is our weather girl Paisley.”
Paisley: “Thanks Bentley.  It is going to be frigid throughout most of the U.S.  Wind chills have reached in the minus 30’s in the north.  Please humans, DO NOT leave your dogs, cats, puppies, or kitties outside in this cold weather.  If it is too cold for you, it is too cold for us.  Let’s just everyone snuggle up and stay warm.  That’s all from here, back to y'all in the studio.  *Psst…that was fun!
Bentley: “Wonderful job Paisley!  Thanks to all of you joining us for the best in dog news.  Be sure to tell your friends or share this post with them.  Visit us all week for great stories including The Lucy Project, How to do a Blog Hop, and more.  Have a great day.  From your BFTB News Team, grab you some happy.”

  1. More exciting news this week - we must say some of the words used these days are a bit odd - but then again - we in blogville have our own language too :)

  2. More good news, thanks for filling us in. Your mom is lucky to be a BlogPaws ambassador, didn't even know there was such a thing until she became one! We are in the deep freeze here, which means I have to wear shoes when we walk in the morning or I get freezer burn on my precious paws. I hate wearing shoes, but it is necessary and our walks are real short at -10 with a -30 wind chill, so it is not too long at least. Have a great week...back to normal life for most this week.

  13. Hi Paisley! Pleased to meet you!

If the polar vortex went away forever, that would be fine with me! And cra cra, really, who says that?

It is darned cold out there! I think my humans should build indoor facilities so we don't have to go outside and freeze our feet when we go to the powder room, but they're being difficult about it.

Mom says most likely I am going with her to BlogPaws, too, provided we can afford to go!
