Bentley: “Thank you for
joining us for another segment of BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Day, we
wanted to share one of his quotes. “I
have decided to stick to love...Hate is too great a burden to bear.” It would be a much better world if more
people made that decision. I am glad to
report that we have all good news this week.
Put those hankies away and get ready to smile. Is that a smile I see on your face, Pierre?”
Pierre: “Yes, yes it is and
I’m going to tell you the reason. This
first story is one of my favorites. A
dog in Florida received a scratch-off lottery ticket in his doggie stocking
this past Christmas. It is one of their
fun family traditions to drop a ticket into each stocking. I can only imagine all of the tail wagging when
the dog’s ticket was worth a cool $3 million!
That will buy a lot of kibble. I
hope that he shares with his humans. It’d
be the right thing.”
Bentley: “That gives a whole
new meaning to the term; one lucky dog. This next story highlights another
fortunate pup. Well, he was a pup when
he disappeared. Chance, a Boxer was
stolen from his backyard eight years ago.
He was picked up by animal control on December 29th and they performed
a scan on him. His microchip led them to
Chance’s family and a beautiful reunion.
Hey, I just thought of something.
Our first two stories were about taking chances! Bahaha!”
Pierre: “Good grief! I can’t believe you went there. *snicker The dog in our next piece doesn’t leave
anything to chance. Eclipse is a
two-year old Lab that lives in Seattle, Washington. She usually rides the bus with her owner to
the dog park. When he doesn’t take her,
she goes by herself. That’s right;
Eclipse gets on the d-line bus near her home, sits nicely through five downtown
stops, and then goes to the door at the bus stop for her park. Her owner explains, “It’s just the bus to the
dog park and back. She keeps it simple.” I’m thinking that we should expand our
horizons. Where is the bus stop around
here?”
Bentley: “Don’t bother with the bus, we
aren’t allowed to leave the yard without our leashes. Anyway, we don’t have a dog park. We can attend the Valentines dance
that Blogville’s own fun co-mayors are hosting. It’s
called the Heart 2 Heart Valentine’s Day Dance.
All of Blogville will be there either by stag or drag! I will be there with my sweetie Emma from My GBGV Life. I can’t wait for the
pictures. If you want more information
about this special event, visit Murphy and Stanley.”
Pierre: “Psst, did you tell
Emma to ask Bailie if she would go with me?
*Bentley shakes his head Well, this is awkward. Umm, Bailie?
*Clears throat Ahem;
on the sports front; you can get a sneak preview of #TheLucyBowl commercial
here. Don’t forget to post your #TeamDog
and #TeamCat photos for a chance to win some fun gifts including mini Ipads! You can get more information on this post. We are having fun posting ours in
hopes of winning.”
Bentley: “Speaking of
winning, the nominations are open for the biggest pet blogger and social media
awards of the year. Of course, I am
talking about the Nose-to-Nose Awards given by BlogPaws at a red carpet event
on the last night of the conference. It
is a REALLY big deal with media coverage and a beautiful trophy. Anyone can nominate their favorite blogs,
photos, humor, cat, dog, or unusual pet blog.”
Pierre: “Is it a popularity
contest? I hate those things where for
someone to win I have to vote twice a day, post their picture on Facebook,
comment on four social media, and vow to only eat kale.”
Bentley: “Kale? No, there's no kale promises, no liking, no posting,
or anything like that. It is not a popular
vote at all. There is a panel of
distinguished judges and all you have to do is, well, it’s just going to be
easier if you check out our post about the categories with all of the links. We are visiting and nominating our favorites
in the different categories. There are
some incredible blogs that deserve recognition.
I wish we could nominate everyone.”
Pierre: “I know someone
that I can nominate for weather girl of the year. Hi there Paisley! How is our smallest Lab Assistant?”
Paisley: “Hi ya guys! It is all terrific and guess what. The sun came out and my yard dried up, so I
could run, roll, and play! It has been
yucky since I moved home. Guess what
else? It is going to keep on being
pretty for the next few days. It is even
reaching the 20’s where our snowy northern friends live. Overall, the Lab report is for better weather
across the United States.”
Bentley: “We have enjoyed
the sunshine and warmer weather too.
Thanks for the sunny forecast. I
understand that you visited my doctor friend.
How’d that go for you? It was
your first visit, wasn’t it?”
Paisley: “Yes sir. I’d never been to my very own doctor vet
before. She was very nice. I weigh 13 pounds and even though I got a
tiny shot, I was a brave girl. You’d
have been proud. Can I go outside to
play now? I have some pouncin’ to
do. Oh, I wanna go to the Heart 2 Heart
dance and play with the other pups and kitties!
Bye y’all!”
Pierre: “Oh, the folly of
youth. I remember when I was that
pouncing age.”
Bentley: “Seriously? You are still at that pouncing age! We need to pounce out of here. We hope y’all have an awesome week. Stay safe, love one another, and be sure to
grab yourself some happy.”

kale would be a terrible fate
ReplyDeleteOne of the best parts about the nose to nose award is not having to vote. We don't do voting anymore, it is a nightmare in our opinion, but we don't mind asking once for a nomination! Pierre, Bailie says don't worry, she will go with you. She isn't into fancy and all the formalities, just enjoys fun, so yes, she would love to go with you! Have a wonderful week, fellows!
ReplyDeleteWe agree with Emma - some of those others where you have to "stump" for the votes (and they sucker you in and MAKE you feel you *have* to, in order to win the donation for your shelter) are soooooo NOT FUN.
DeleteWe like the idea of being nominated, then letting the judges decide. We'd love to be nominated too, but this year we are not going to nag people about it, just because we got so burned out over the Petties last fall. :(
Did you want to be nominated? We think we missed the link where you talk about the categories you'd like to be nominated - can you email our mom and tell her?
Hi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteToo, too funny, y'all!
My Human is enjoyin' the 60's and low 70's and spendin' more time outside with me. The bad news is that it is too warm to go with them when they go someplace in the car. :(
Y'all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
How nice to have a good news day! Thanks for the report!

That's amazing that the dog was reunited after 8 years, I couldn't imagine what that would be like. Microchips are amazing little trackers. Here in Michigan it got to 30 degrees yesterday - it felt like a heat wave :)
