BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News 4/27/2015

Bentley: “Hello and welcome to this week’s BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News.  I’m your newshound Bentley and together with my co-anchor Pierre, we’ll provide you with the news we nose.  Our lively Weather Lab Paisley will fetch the forecast.  We are hoping for some sunny skies.  Pierre, what is today’s hot top story?”

Pierre: “Hot is the keyword for this story, Bentley.  The police arrived at an Ohio big box store parking lot after a concerned citizen reported a dog left inside a car.  When the dog’s owner came out, she told the police that her dog was fine.  In order to let the woman understand how ‘fine’ it feels; the police officer had her sit inside her car with the windows rolled up for a few minutes.  She was then ticketed for misdemeanor animal cruelty.  I hope that this serves as a reminder to people that it is not okay to leave us dogs inside of a car regardless of the temperatures.  We would never do that to you.  You know; if we were the humans.”
Bentley: “You mean considered human like the chimps being held at Stony Brook University?  After a long court battle, a judge issued a “writ of habeas corpus” giving Hercules and Leo the right to challenge their detention or unlawful imprisonment just as a human can.  The two are being kept at the university’s research facility.  The Nonhuman Rights Project is attempting to free the imprisoned chimps and allow them to live out their lives at an established chimpanzee sanctuary.  The “writ of habeas corpus” has been struck out of the document, but the case is going to court in May.  We will keep you updated.  I’d like to see this help free the beagles and other animals kept as laboratory research subjects.  There simply must be a better way.  Don’t you agree, Pierre?”

Pierre: “Yes, I do.  There are too many brilliant minds not to come up with a better way of testing.  This last news bite is another happy reunion thanks to a chip story.  Tilly, a Beagle mix was found thanks to her microchip.  Her family in Utah had given up hope after two years but was shocked to receive a call from animal control in Kentucky.  Tilly was transported back to her family.  That makes me so happy.  Guess what else makes me happy?  It’s announcing the winner of my Big Birthday Giveaway!  Janet Keefe from Wag ‘N Woof Pets was randomly selected and will receive all of the goodies in my prize package.  Thanks so much to everyone who entered.  You were all great sports.”
Bentley: “Speaking of great sports, we have a lot going on in our sportscast.  We are excited to announce our good friends Cello and Hooch from Cello’s Corner have been asked to represent Turbo Pup!  Now when they stand in the winner’s circle, they’ll be sporting the Turbo Pup logo.  Congratulations on the honor and for another fantastic showing this weekend.  Cello won a 2nd place in the Cadet Division of the Extreme Vertical and 1st place in the Warrior Division Iron Dog.  Her little brother Hooch and his “Hoochie Hop” scored two 1st place medals and a 2nd place in the Novice Division.  These two dogs are flying high in 2015.  We couldn’t be prouder of them.”

Paisley: “Hiya guys!  Isn’t Hooch just the best?  He is so dreamy.  I was inspired by how well he did over the weekend and I tested the waters myself.  Yessirree, I sure did!  My dad took me to a playdate and there was a ginormous swimming pool.  I took to it like a duck.  Do y’all want to do some synchronized swimming with me?  That’d be so fun!  You can see me in action next to the weather map.”
Bentley: “Sorry sweetie, I’m not really built for that type of swimming.  Give me a comfy raft and a glass of iced tea and we can talk!  Is our weather going to cooperate for more swimming?”
Paisley: “Well, the first couple of days will see more storms through the middle and southern portions of our country.  The great news is that when those dissipate, we will have beautiful blue skies for a few days!  I know that puts a wag in your tail.  Maybe some of the mud puddles will dry up and we can race around without splashing.  The temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s.  Y’all enjoy the sunshine and flowers.”
Pierre: “That was another great forecast.  On a serious note, we would like to express our sadness at the tragedy in Nepal.  We are thankful for all of the tireless relief efforts underway there.  Bless them all.”
Bentley: “We appreciate you getting your news from us and be sure to tell your friends to stop by to see us.  Take care of yourselves until we meet again and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

  4. It's sunny here this morning, for a change so I hope your forecast is correct that we are in for some full sunshiney days ahead! Congratulations to Miss Janet! And yes, we have been thinking about the people of Nepal as well. Ma and Daddy-dog were scheduled to go there in October/November with Habitat for Humanity International to help with a big build...they are hoping that Habitat won't have to cancel the event.

  7. Wow, great reporting again today, my furiends! Much better than anything on the television. I'm glad that careless peep got to feel what a hot car is like and I hope the chimps get their freedom. Cruelty to animals stinks. Gee, Paisley I love swimming too!

  10. SOMETIMES we are very Embarrassed to say we live in Ohio..
EVEN WITH our special COOLING Pads... our mom and dad don't leave us in the car on hot days... AND they try to always park in the SHADE... and ONE of them stays with US and the other goes in stores and such to do the errands... so we can have the windows open... EVEN WITH our cooling pads they do all of that..
THANKS so much fur putting the HOT SUMMER car warning up. YOU are the Best. LOVE Mondays here.

  11. That's great that the officers made her sit in the car a few minutes to help her understand how hot it actually can get. Hopefully, she learned a lesson and will not leave her dogs in the car again.

Gosh, we wonder how that Tilly got all the way from Utah to Kentucky? It's amazing sometimes how far away they find some microchipped pets!
If you could send a little warmth and sunshine along with our prize package, it would be greatly appreciated! :) Luke and Sheba are really wanting to do some swimming too!
