We are Going Backcountry with Merrick ~ A BlogPaws Conference Sponsor

The delivery of a large box had Bentley and Pierre very excited the other day.  They always assume any packages are for them and on this particular day, they were right.  We hurried into the kitchen to see what was inside this mystery box.
Bentley: “Lemme tell them, Mom!  I just can’t contain myself a minute longer.  Okay, it was a box of Backcountry™ Raw Infused from our friends at Merrick!  They have a new line of dog food.  It is the ultimate in eating like our ancestors.”
Pierre: “That means a grain free diet that is high in protein.  We are meat eaters and the folks at Merrick understand that.  Backcountry contains a high-protein kibble and adds freeze-dried raw meat for an incredibly delicious food.”
Bentley: “It comes in four new dry recipes and each one delivers a perfect
combo of protein-rich kibble and real whole pieces of raw, freeze-dried meat.  I’ve been trying some raw food recipes and this is a good blend for me.  I like eating raw, but I do love my kibble.  This is the best of both worlds.  We tried the Game Bird Recipe with deboned turkey, duck, and quail.  That is awesome, but Merrick doesn’t stop there.  They add chicken that is freeze-dried raw.  The raw inclusion goes through rigorous testing and a high pressure processing to ensure safety.”
Pierre: “Am I drooling?  Look at the other flavors, Great Plains Red Recipe, Pacific Catch, and a Puppy Recipe.  We also have a can of Merrick Backcountry Grain Free Hearty Duck and Venison Stew.  It has real duck, green beans, and venison.  Oh yeah, I’m definitely drooling.”
Bentley: “Grab a napkin, because I am about to tell you the other Hearty Stew recipes available.  There is a Beef, Chicken Thigh, Salmon, and Alpine Rabbit.  Each flavor has fresh cut veggies and amazing gravy.  Pass me a napkin those all sound sensational.”
Pierre: “One of my favorite things about Merrick is they use only the highest quality ingredients and never include ingredients from China.  The Backcountry is easy for me to digest and it doesn’t have any gluten, corn, soy, or wheat.  I love eating as nature intended.”
Bentley: “Mmmm, same here.  Backcountry Raw Infused is the ultimate ancestral canine diet.  It’s another winner in the Merrick product line-up.  Our friends should be able to find backcountry in their favorite pet store now.  Take it from Pierre and me; you’re going to love it!”
Pierre: “Be sure to follow Merrick on Facebook and Twitter so you don’t miss anything!  We are super excited that Merrick is one of the fantastic sponsors of the BlogPaws Conference!”
We received a bag and can of Merrick Backcountry Raw Infused in exchange for an honest review.  There was no monetary compensation.  Barking from the Bayou/mkclinton.com only share information we feel is relevant to our readers. Merrick is not responsible for the contents of this post.

Happy 30th Birthday Jessica!
As incredibly hard as it is for me to believe, Jessica, my baby girl turns 30 years old today.  I’m not sure how the time passed so fast.  People say it flies when you are having fun and our lives have been so much more fun since May 5, 1985.  She is now happily married to our wonderful son-in-law Keith.  Although she lives too far away to celebrate together, we will be able to visit via FaceTime and that is super cool.  Pierre is sending his mom rapid-fire kisses.  Bentley wishes he could give his big sister a hug, but really wishes that she could give him belly rubs.  Her dad and I send our love, hugs, and the happiest wishes for a beautiful new year.  Enjoy your thirties, one day you’ll realize that it is still extremely young!  LOL!

P.S. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

  3. Happy birthday to your daughter. I say thirty is older than the hills, but my mom is so old, she says thirty is just a pup. I don't really know what to think! Enjoy the Backcountry. We switched to it now permanently and are enjoying a bag of the flavor with wabbit in it right now. What could be better than wabbit???

  11. Happy Birthday to Jessica! We are interested in giving this a try. We have been feeding a similar raw + kibble combo from a competitor of Merrick's but I would argue that Merrick's ingredient list and price point is way better. Glad you guys liked it!
