BFTB NETWoof News for June 8 2015

Bentley: “Welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News.  My team and I are here to retrieve all of the news that we have fetched over the past week.  Since there is enough bad news out there, we specialize in bringing you the nicer news whenever we can.  What’s our top story this week, Pierre?”
Barking from the Bayou News Team

Pierre: “Thank you, Bentley.  I hate to say that it isn’t a feel-good story.  This report raises my hackles and as an adorable Westie, that is not a good look.  It seems that Chopper the Biker Dog is going to lose his therapy dog license.  The problem is that he likes to wear his biker leathers when he visits people in the San Diego area hospitals, senior centers, and schools.  Obviously, the particular agency that licenses therapy dogs prohibits them from wearing clothes.  I mean the Boston Terrier has been wearing his cool duds for five years!”
Bentley: “Wow!  That means they would rather Chopper appear in the fur instead of being properly dressed?  Exactly what kind of policy is that?  I feel the hair rising on my neck too. We understand his human is going to get him licensed through another therapy agency.  I am sure the people they visit will be happy to know they can still count on Chopper to bring them a smile or a much-needed laugh.  It’s not like therapy dogs are a dime a dozen.  Many of these dogs provide the only unconditional love some of these folks receive.”
Pierre: “This next story is one that we avoided last week.  It was just too horrific to report.  I’m sure that most of our readers are familiar with the plight of Caitlyn.  She is the chocolate Staffie that was found with her snout wrapped in electrical tape.  We are happy to report that the reconstructive surgery was a success.  She is recouping in a foster home while thousands of requests to adopt her pour in from all over the country.”
Bentley: “It is sometimes hard to imagine the depths of human depravity.  I’m glad to know that she is doing better.  The police have also captured the bad man that is charged with the vicious crime.  Now would be a great time to remind our readers that even though only one family can adopt Caitlyn, there are so many dogs and cats with equally sad and cruel stories.  If any of you were moved to want to help Caitlyn, visit your local shelter and adopt another deserving best friend.  You’ll be saving another life and that is what really counts.
Barking from the Bayou Sports report on Triple Crown winner

Pierre: “Our big sports news doesn’t have anything to do with dogs this week.  It is all about American Pharoah and the magic that took place at the Belmont Stakes.  For the first time in 37 years, a horse has captured the Triple Crown.  It is the most elusive victory in sports and we were cheering along as he took a decisive 5 ½ length lead for the title.  It was impressive enough to ignore that he spells his name incorrectly!”
Bentley: “It was thrilling.  You know, there was a time when I considered joining the racing circuit.  I mean I already have my number seven on my side.  All I needed were some nice silks and an itty bitty jockey.”
Pierre: “Yeah, that is all that you would have needed.  *Heehee
Barking from the Bayou Weather Lab Report

Paisley: “Hey guys!  Is it time for the weather?  I wanted to give everyone the scoop on our local flooding.  Even though our weather has been lovely, the Red River is rising and not expected to crest until later this week.  It has been really rough on many of our residents.  There are reports of some animals not being able to escape the flooding waters.  It is very scary because the river has left its banks and completely covered the roads that we took photos from earlier last week.  The mighty Red will be at 7 feet above flood stage by this morning.”
Bentley: “We hope that everyone can manage to stay safe.  Will our nice weather continue throughout the country?”
Paisley: “Well, our friends on the west coast will have sunny skies most of the week and in the northwest, they will experience record highs.  The really bad storms that hit Colorado are moving to the east and threatening Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois.  I strongly urge everyone to have an evacuation plan and emergency survival kit.  The weather can turn ugly at a moment’s notice this time of year.  It was only a couple of weeks ago that y’all were barracked in the hallway as a tornado approached.  Stay safe out there my friends.  Back to you, Bentley.”
Bentley: “Thanks for another great weather report, Paisley.  We would like to give a Blogville welcome to all our new friends that attended the big dance last week.  You can catch up on the activities here.  On behalf of our cute Weather Lab Paisley and my co-anchor Pierre, I’m Bentley wishing you a terrific week.  Be sure to join us for more fun and exciting stories and review this week.  We will have a fun giveaway beginning on Thursday.  Take care of each other and remember to grab yourself some happy!”

  3. My back yard is like a soaked sponge, but I'm not complaining. I'm sure in a few weeks it will be too dry! Saw a report on the Red River on the news last night and thought of you all. Stay safe down there!

  8. Wow, what super reporting this week, my furiends! I'm sure someone will fix this so Chopper can keep working. You are so right that therapy dogs are very important and much beloved. I hope they dish out some seriously harsh punishment to that horrible tape peep monster who hurt that poor pooch. They should tape all of his bodily openings shut just for starters. Anyway, a big congrats to the winning horsie and thanks for the bark out about my recent Welcome Dance. You give the coolest reports!!

  10. The weather has been crazy in Denver too, rain, hail, and more rain every day. And a few tornadoes thrown in for good measure. What the heck is up with that? It was good seeing American Pharoah win the Belmont Stakes, he is an amazing horse. And Caitlyn's story (the dog, not Jenner) is shaping up to have a happy ending. I hope they find her a super fur-ever home. :) Happy Monday!

  13. We are STUNNED by the story about CHOPPER..... now let us say THIS.... MANY MANY grrreat places that Want and NEED... Visits from Fur Folks.... do NOT require that they be CERTIFIED... Just that they be Calm and Well Trained... We would suggest that Chopper say to Heck with the Certification thingy... and go places that do not require it... Same Benefits and Results... withOUT the crazy rules...
We are praying fur those in the path of the flood.

  18. This is the only news report that we can trust to be accurate and keep us up on current events! We cannot describe how upset we are over the taping of Caitlin. We have a sad thing to report. mayor Stanley got stung by a bee. He is better today though.

  19. We don't understand why they don't want therapy dogs wearing clothes!? Sometimes humans come up with the most ridiculous rules.
We sure hope everyone stays safe from the flooding and the bad storms.
