Maintaining Your Cool in the Heat

Basset in shades and cap in B & W
"Even when it's hot outside, it's important to maintain your own personal level of cool."

How long can NFL player Tyrann Mathieu tough it out in a hot car? This is a great demonstration!

  5. I watched this on FB yesterday. It's a fantastic demonstration. Eight minutes - does anyone ever get out of the store, even with only 1 item, in 8 minutes? So glad you shared this and hope many people see it all over the place and it makes them think.

  6. I too saw this on FB yesterday. Glad more people are bringing this to the general publics attention (though I still wonder why it continues to be an issue-you'd think common sense would tell people it's a bad idea to leave your dog in the car). Thanks for sharing-hope you all stay cool. P.S. Love the shades.

  7. I guess I am kinda lucky. Mum usually only takes me out early in the morning because of the heat. She realizes that the asphalt gets too hot for my little paws, and I don't like wearing booties!!! Right now she does not have a car and unless she goes somewhere in the wheelchair, she uses a paratransit van, which is air conditioned (of course, here in Tucson) and she does not take me in the middle of the day because I have to stand around on the asphalt while the driver is getting her on and off the ramp, etc. If she does take me, she has the driver put me on the van first (apparently Cody was very good when mum let go of the leash and would run up the stairs into the van -- mum is afraid I will do one of my bolts when she lets me go!!). Getting off is harder, cos the driver has to hold my leash while she gets on the ramp and comes down. I really don't mind not going with her when it is hot -- I usually get a good treat when she leaves. Keep posting this info.
