BFTB NETWoof News September 13, 2015

Bentley: “Hello and welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. I’m Bentley and joining me at the news desk is my co-anchor Pierre and our Weather Lab, Paisley. We have some great news stories to share with you. Pierre, what is our top story?”

Pierre: “The very solemn remembrance of 9/11 was made a little lighter with the arrival of the last living rescue dog from that fateful day. Bretagne, the Golden Retriever was flown with her handler from Texas to New York City for the occasion. While in the city, she was also treated to a fun-filled birthday celebration. Her big day included a gourmet cheeseburger, playing with toys and taking a tour in a vintage taxi. Now, that is the way to honor a hero! We give a big thank you to our friends at Bark Post for making this trip happen.”
Bentley: “That is terrific. New York was the place to be last week. It was also the Spring 2016 Fashion Week and our friend, Anthony Rubio held a showing.  In addition to his fabulous designs for women, he is the Master Pet Couturier. The fashions these pups were wearing made me drool. I really need to see what he can create in the way of Basset wear. I am not a sequin-type guy.”
Pierre: “No, no, you are not the sparkly type. However, I would look amazing in a sequined top hat and tails. Anthony Rubio Designs are worn by all of the best-dressed canines. I’d love a chance to wear one of his originals.”
Bentley: “Speaking of chances, our next story is all about chances; second chances to be exact. Rescue dogs in Georgia are being trained as service dogs for veterans. The organization, Veterans K-9 Solutions, feels that through saving a dog, they can rehabilitate a veteran. Last week, thirty-six veterans gathered to watch their rescued dogs graduate with different levels of service training.”
Pierre: “If we could implement programs like that across the country, it would be a national win/win situation. I love the idea and congratulate the veterans and their dogs. We have two heroes in this week’s sports report too.”

Bentley: “We sure do, Pierre. Our spotlight is shining on the newest member of the “Liver Killers” team from Cello’s Corner. Lager is a former Explosives Detection Canine that has served in Iraq. He has proven himself to also be a top-notch Dock Diving Dog. This weekend he made the Semi-Pro Finals at the Hebron Harvest Fair Dock Diving competition. Lager brought home two 1st place medals, two 3rd place medals and jumped a personal best of 21'3". Can you believe that he is new to the sport? Cello and Hooch did amazing in the Pro-Finals. We are so proud of them.”
Pierre: “We are proud of our friend Küster from Tales and Tails too. He is now a certified Wilderness Area Search Dog in addition to being certified in Trailing and Tracking. Not to brag, but we actually met Küster at BlogPaws last May.”
Paisley: “Hey you guys, guess what. Guess who is being escorted to the Blogville Sadie Hawkins Dance by the Number One ranked Dock Diving Dog in the entire United States of America. Never mind, I’ll tell you…it’s ME! Hooch said ‘yes’ to my invitation! Squeeeee!!!!”
Bentley: “I am proud of you for asking him, Paisley. I’ll be there with my sweetie, Emma and Pierre will be escorting her sister, Bailie. Y’all can ride with us. How is the weather looking for this upcoming week? It sure felt great this weekend.”

Paisley: “It is going to be nice for most of the country. A cool down sweeps across the east coast accompanied by some showers. Even the center of the U.S. will see a gradual cool down. It will still be sunny and hot in the south with the occasional scattered storms over Florida. The west coast will continue to be sunny and warm. You can expect some showers in the northwest also. We are slowing changing seasons.”
Pierre: “I love when the season changes to pumpkin spice. Everything smells so good.”
Bentley: “There is nothing like the smell of pumpkin treats in the oven. That’s it for today’s BFTB news. We appreciate you joining us. Be sure and visit each day as we explore new products, share funny stories and learn something together. Have a fantastic week and don’t forget to grab yourself some happy.”
