Dream Big with #ThePeanutsMovie

Let me start by stating unequivocally that I LOVE CARTOONS. As far back as I can remember, cartoons have made me laugh, cry, and laugh some more. When Charlie Brown’s Christmas debuted in 1965, it became a part of every Christmas memory. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang have always been a staple in my home for the holidays. We have enjoyed a Peanuts Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s, and Easter. Now, the entire gang is making their big-screen debut in state of the art 3D animation! I can hardly wait.

The Peanuts Movie hits theaters on November 6th and promises to quickly become another classic. This family-friendly film is directed by, Steve Martino and produced by Craig Schulz, Bryan Schultz, Cornelius Uliano, Paul Feig, and Michael J. Travers. In case you were wondering, Craig and Bryan are sons of the brilliant Peanuts creator, Charles M. Schulz.

In this new 3D adventure, our favorite underdog, Charlie Brown attempts an epic and heroic quest. As always, his faithful companion Snoopy is there to help him. Unless, he is busy pursuing his arch-enemy the Red Baron. A Beagle has to do what a Beagle has to do, after all.

Did you know Snoopy is the only fictional dog to ever receive an honorary registration number with the American Kennel Club? He is officially Beagle-1. That’s not bad for a character that was inspired by Charles M. Schulz’s own childhood dog. Spike, was not a Beagle but a cross between a Pointer and a Hound. When Schulz began a comic strip for his hometown newspaper, The St. Paul Pioneer Press, he created Snoopy as a Beagle. He thought the word Beagle was funny. Paws down, he is the most famous canine to ever sleep atop a dog house. Have you ever wondered how Snoopy was able to sleep there without falling? It’s the same principle a bird uses to clamp its feet on a branch to sleep. Mr. Schulz used that theory but applied it to Snoopy’s long ears. They clamp down on either side of his house to ensure a safe and comfy slumber.

Most of us find a little dash of Snoopy in our own dogs. We might even find ourselves saying, “Good grief” or “Arrgghh!” the same way Charlie Brown does. Still, we know they are the one friend that will always be there in the end.

Is there anyone that can’t relate to feeling a bit Charlie Brownish at some point in our lives? That is the reason the Peanuts Gang has lived in the hearts of so many for so long. It is also why we are eagerly awaiting the debut of The Peanuts Movie on November 6, 2015.
