Bentley: “Welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for April 4, 2016. I’m Bentley, your newshound extraordinaire. Joining me at the desk is my co-anchor Pierre and our wonderful Weather Lab, Paisley. We have fetched some great reports for your week. Let’s get to our top story, Pierre.”

Pierre: “We chose our top story this week for the ‘awww’ factor. The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo introduced their two new tiger cubs last week to the Today’s Show Harry Smith. The 12-week-old Mayalan tiger cubs are doing great. They are endangered with only 250 left due to poaching and loss of prey in the wild. The Wildlife Conservation Society works to help stop poaching so that hopefully magnificent tigers and many other animals will survive in their natural habitat. The cubs are so cute. I’m glad they are safe from poachers.”
Bentley: “On that subject, our next report features Ruger, a Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd mix. He was an unwanted puppy and grew up to be an angry dog. Lucky for Ruger, someone saw the potential in him to become Zambia’s first anti-poaching K9. He was rescued from a shelter in Montana and his anger was focused toward spotting weapons and ivory trying to be smuggled. In Ruger’s two years on the job, he is responsible for capturing 150 poachers. After finding a tiny piece of ivory hidden in a matchbox in less than three minutes, some spectators thought he might be a witch! Rest assured, he is not a witch, just another amazing rescue dog.”'
Pierre: “This next dog had better steer clear of Ruger. It seems that Miley, a black Labrador decided to fetch a bag of marijuana. Her owners originally thought she had come home with a bag of someone’s garbage. What they discovered when they looked inside the white trash bag was about a pound of weed rolled up and ready for sale. Authorities were alerted but so far the dog is not pointing any paws at her source.”
Bentley: “That is probably a good idea. You don’t know who she is dealing with and they might get nasty. On a different subject, have you ever thought about how much it costs to raise dogs over their lifetime? I mean we are definitely worth every single penny but GOBankingRate recently conducted a study to discover the 30 most expensive breeds. They took into consideration the amount you pay for a purebred dog, average professional grooming cost, life expectancy and veterinarian costs. Relax; apparently we are pretty cheap compared to some others. Of course, I don’t require grooming, but I wouldn’t turn down a spa day…just sayin’. Coming in at #30 is the Yorkshire terrier and the most expensive breed is the Tibetan Mastiff. They can cost $3,000, $70 for grooming and with an 8–10-year lifespan; the vet bills will average another 3k. Let me reiterate, we are worth so much more than money. Right?

Pierre: “Of course, we are all priceless. I’m excited to share the sports this week. Our friend Bailie, from My GBGV Life, went for her L1V title (Level 1 Vehicle). The trials were held on a farm in Iowa. She had to locate four different searches including a huge tractor with wheels almost 6’ tall! I saw some other photos and the wind was really blowing. That makes the search more difficult. We are so proud of Bailie and her mom, Joy. Are those winds going subside this week, Paisley?”
Paisley: “You know that spring brings winds and showers so it will be breezy in a lot of the country, but especially in the middle states. There will be rain in the northwest and midweek showers will make an appearance along the west coast. The south will catch a break with a sunny and warm outlook. Our friends on the east coast will have showers and cooler temps. Up in the northeast, there will be rain mixed with spring snowfall. How is that for an oxymoron…spring snowfall? Warmer temperatures are coming your way, I promise. That is the forecast from the Bayou, Bentley.”
Bentley: “I am sure looking forward to some nice temps and sunshine. Let me remind all of our readers about the two fun~tastic, incredible contests that we have going on now. We are giving away a $25 gift card to PrideBites to celebrate their appearance on Shark Tank this Friday. We also have an amazing gift basket full of treats and swag from the incredible Vita Bone.
