BFTB NETWoof News July 4th 2016 #DogNews

BFTB NETWoof dog news with happy 4th of July in background
Bentley: “Happy 4th of July to all of my fellow Americans! I hope that you are enjoying family barbecues and fun. I caution everyone to be indoors before nightfall. It is this reporter’s experience that the end of the world nearly happens each Independence Day. Fireworks and explosions can be scary to normally brave macho dogs. Don't judge, just stay close to us today. I know there are burgers to be grilled and watermelons to be munched so let’s get on with this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. Pierre?”

Pierre: “Thanks, Bentley. It is good to be back after our week on the road. While we were busy learning new blogging tips, other dogs were helping our U.S.A. swimmers stay calm during their trials. Domesti-PUPS are providing canine companions to help relieve some of the anxiety that comes with the Olympic trials. Having a dog to cuddle makes everything better whether you win or lose.”

Bentley: “Speaking of winning, the days of animals being drugged, cut and killed are finally over for medical students. In a victory that was long-overdue, PETA announced that the last school still using this cruel practice has agreed to stop. University of Tennessee’s College of Medicine-Chattanooga announced recently they are no longer using live animals. John Hopkins had previously put a halt to the practice. The BFTB News team says thank you! Now can we get manufacturers to follow suit?”
BFTB NETWoof Dog News with Harbor seal on background screen
Pierre: “What a wonderful world that would be, right? We need to share another story about humans trying to help wildlife. Two Harbor Seals have died after some good Samaritans thought they were saving the baby seals lives. A good rule to follow is: Don’t Touch, Get Help. There are people trained to deal with animals in distress that are able and ready to help. So who ya gonna call? Wildlife Management!”
BFTB NETWoof News with dog and toddler kissing
Bentley: “Let me be the first to admit that I kiss my Mom and I like it. I know that some dogs think it is gross but Mom doesn’t have cooties. People are the same way about us kissing them. Now reports are surfacing about a very rare condition that is caused by a bacterium called C. canimorsus that is found in the oral cavities of dogs and cats. A 70-year-old woman in the U.K. was hospitalized with sepsis and multi-organ dysfunction caused by being licked by her greyhound. We are happy to report that she is doing fine after some care and broad-spectrum antibiotics. Geez, I hope this doesn’t cause a decline in doggie kisses. It makes life better.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather with Paisley the Weather Lab
Paisley: “I am not going to stop giving kisses. Mwah! Hello everyone and happy 4th of July! It has really gotten hot since our last weather forecast. This week is perfect for going to the beach or pool to cool off with temps reaching the 90’s over most of the U.S. There will be some rain in the mid-eastern states all the way down to Florida. Our friends in the Seattle area will have to deal with rain on and off all week. Texas will see triple digits and that means the ground will be yee-hot so protect your pup’s paws. Back to you, Bentley.”
Bentley: “Thanks to everyone for stopping by today. We have a lot of fun happening this week so be sure to drop by each day. You can make it easy on yourself by signing up to have us delivered in your email or on Bloglovin.’ We are also on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so follow us. Please take good care of your pets today during the pyrotechnics. Most dogs are simply not fans. Don’t forget to grab yourself some happy!”

  2. Nice to have the news back. Mom and Katie found a baby seal on the beach years ago. They called the wildlife people who took it to a sanctuary where it grew up to be a nice lady seal. Have a great 4th of July!
