BFTB NETWoof News September 12, 2016

Bentley: “Welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. I am Bentley Basset and joining me at the anchor desk is my good friend Pierre Westie and our always reliable Weather Lab, Paisley. Together we have fetched the best in news, sports , and weather. What’s our top story, Pierre?”
BFTB NETWoof News with newshounds and backscreen of LA flood dog victims
Pierre: “As many of you know, our home state of Louisiana has experienced massive flooding this year. The most recent one devastated Baton Rouge and other southern cities and towns. Whenever a natural disaster happens, there are usually thousands of pets displaced. This flood was no exception but thanks to Wings of Rescue, some generous donations and various rescues, including Oregon Friends of Shelters, 100 dogs, and cats now have a chance at finding new homes. They were flown from kill shelters in Lafayette, La. to Oregon where they will be adopted from SW Washington to Southern Oregon shelters.”
BFTB NETWoof News with BarkAID
Bentley: “It’s important to note that a number of these pets were already in shelters and the others were not claimed after the floods. The kindness of strangers can make all of the difference in the life of a homeless pet. Take this next story for an example. What began as a 3-day cut-a-thon has morphed into BarkAID; a 50 states in 50 days tour to cut hair and raise money for shelter pets. Patrick Lomantini is the big heart and awesome stylist behind the BarkAID. He began this year’s tour on July 15th in Augusta, Maine and will finish at his home base in Wichita, Kansas. He will be in 74 cities this tour! You can read more about Mr. Lomantini and BarkAID by clicking here.”
BFTB NETWoof News on the surge in animal art sales.
Pierre: “That is a beautiful way to use his talent. Speaking of talent, we might need to consider doing more artsy stuff. According to the Washington Post, zoos are beginning to make money by selling paintings done by the animals. The idea took root when three works by a virtual unknown sold for over $25,000 at an elite auction house in London. The artist was a chimp! Now, zoos are putting paint brushes in the paws of monkeys, the trunks of elephants and on the claws of birds. We could surely make some extra coin with our talents. Just sayin.”
BFTB NETWoof Sports with Emma from My GBGV is our beautiful sports star.
Bentley: “I do have a great eye for beauty which should be obvious to anyone that has seen my gorgeous girlfriend, Emma from My GBGV Life. She turned 10 yesterday so I wanted to wish her a happy birthday. I also wanted to brag about her latest accomplishment. She earned her Level 1 Exterior Element Title last weekend. Emma now has all four Level 1 Elements Titles which include Interior, Exterior, Containers, and Vehicles. She is the first GBGV to get any not to mention ALL of those titles. My sweetie is AMAZING and we are all so proud of her.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather
Paisley: “She is pretty and y’all make such a cute couple. Emma and her sister can expect nice weather in Minnesota but a bit of rain this Friday. The northern states will have isolated storms throughout the week. That’s not too bad considering the Gulf coast states including most of Florida will have rain most days. It will be muggy in addition to isolated thunderstorms in Texas and Louisiana. The center of the U.S. will have scattered storms while the southwest will be hot. The best weather this week is along the west coast. Your days will be sunny to partly cloudy. I hope that each of you enjoys a bit of sunshine in all of your days. Always stay tuned to your local weather in the event of threatening skies.”
Bentley: “Hopefully, the weather won’t cause any problems. Don’t forget to enter for a chance to be one of our three winners to receive a 3 lb. bag of Dr. Harvey’s Oracle. That’s enough to feed a 10-15 lb. dog for 16 days! Anyway, the time is running out for your chance to enter so don’t delay. You can click on the links below. We have some reviews that you’ll enjoy along with some fun photos and articles that you don’t want to miss. 2. I'm pretty sure I could do a painting. Once Mom put my paw on an ink pad so I could sign a birthday card for one of my friends. My paw looked gorgeous if I do say so myself...

    Love and licks,

  3. We are so sad for the animals who become homeless because of weather created problems. Barkaid sounds like a great idea...now they need a song like "we are the world" only sung by dogs...arrrroooo!!! Thanks for the shout out, my birthday was grand and we are truly enjoying a new stretch of perfect weather. Have a great week!

  4. we saw them rescuing lots of dogs in the flooding - we just hope they gave the owners time to find them - our Mom is one of those that wouldn't of gone if she couldn't take us with us.

  5. Hmmm, you two and your mom are quite talented so I don't see why you couldn't become famous artists, selling your creations all over the world.

  8. We are huge fans of BarkAid! Thanks for sharing the story on it. We hope all pups in Louisiana find fur-ever homes. We should see if Sam can attach a paintbrush to his Swiffer tail to make some art while it's wagging. How fun could that paint fest be? BOL
