BFTB NETWoof Dog News October 17, 2016

Bentley: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for October 17, 2016. I am your newshound Bentley Basset Hound and together with my co-anchor Pierre Westie we fetch you the good news of the week. You can always depend on us to share a story that will make you smile. What’s today’s top story, Pierre?”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story is the Underhound Railroad
Pierre: “We are starting off with a report that proves there are some really amazing people out there. A veterinarian, Dr. Michael Good, has been saving dogs from high-kill shelters in the south and transporting them to northern states like New Jersey, New York, and Minnesota. He is credited with saving over 15,000 dogs from puppy mills, strays, and shelters. We salute Dr. Good and the others that make the Underhound Railroad a success.”

BFTB NETWoof News report on baby wolf mistaken for puppy
Bentley: “That is someone who really lived up to their name! Our next story is about someone who tried to do the right thing. A man in Arizona is back in the market for a puppy after his first adoption did not go so well. Little Neo wouldn’t make eye contact, he didn’t like dog treats and he continually escaped his yard. Hoping his local Humane Society could shed some light on the pup’s idiosyncrasies, he took Neo in to see them. It didn’t take long for him to be told that he had actually adopted a wolf. Since it is illegal for to keep a wolf/dog in his state, the wolf is now residing at the Wolf Connection sanctuary in California.”
BFTB NETWoof News report on Romeo cat and Juliet dog
Pierre: “Maybe Neo can find his true love at his new home. There are a couple of star-crossed lovers in Chula Vista Animal Care Facility in California. Romeo the cat and Juliet the Schnauzer were rescued together but separated into dog/cat areas once they arrived at the facility. Romeo quit eating and became very lethargic. Officials realized he was depressed over being away from his Juliet. Once the staff prepared a special area for the unlikely couple, Romeo perked right up. The pair will only be adopted together. If you know someone that can take these sweethearts, contact the Chula Vista Animal Care.”
BFTB NETWoof News on puppy fever in Blogville
Bentley: “Speaking for sweeties, my girlfriend Emma has some big news on My GBGV Life today! She and Bailie have a new little sister and she is precious. They aren’t the only ones either. Our pal, Spencer the Goldendoodle is also introducing a new family member. What does that mean to those of us who enjoy living in a mature dog household? Two words. Puppy. Fever. We here at BFTB News are predicting an epidemic of puppy fever to hit hard. There is no vaccination or medication to treat acute puppy fever. We are going to chew up a couple of shoes and maybe dig up a plant to remind our mom of the hard work a puppy brings. Feel free to use this or if you have any ideas, please let us know in the comments. Seriously, these new Blogville additions are adorable and we urge you go meet them for yourself. Welcome home, Madison and River!”
Pierre: “Speaking of young ‘uns, how is our Weather Lab doing this week? Paisley, we were worried about the typhoon that was supposed to hit in your area. Is everything okay up there?”
BFTB NETWoof's Weather Lab Paisley live remote from the Pacific NW
Paisley: “Hiya, boys! We are all fine and dandy. As a matter of fact, we had a little wind and rain but that was about it. Everyone was prepared for the worst but we lucked out on this storm. We will have some showers in the northwest and across much of the northern states this week. I am not predicting any bad weather for anyone in the U.S. this week. It should be a beautiful autumn week for most of the states. Our temperatures will stay in the 70s and 80s during the day so get outside and walk your dogs! Always check your local forecast in the event of inclement weather.”
Bentley: “Great forecast, Paisley. We thank everyone for joining us today and would love for you to share this post on your social media. This is going to be a fun week here on the Bayou. We have a new Dr. Harvey’s giveaway coming tomorrow for 3 lucky winners along with an exciting new calming toy review on Thursday. You won’t want to miss a day! We hope that you have a terrific week and be sure to grab yourself some happy!”

  6. We've heard lots of the rescue people send dogs to Minnesota because we seem to have a low kill rate and less dogs up for adoption than other states, so the pups find good homes here. Thanks for the mention about Madison. She is keeping us all on our paws right now, but we are starting to settle into a new routine. She is a lot of fun!

  14. Puppy fever is completely incurable unless you are lucky enough to bring a new little wiggle butt into the fur-mily. Congrats to all those just that as well as to the kind Dr. Good, a vet to practices his name with rescues. And we are keeping our paws crossed the sweet Neo finds happiness at the Wolf Sanctuary. ღ

  15. Hopefully puppy fever can be held at bay by living vicariously through Emma's and Spencer's blogs! When Bailie joined their family, it was only a few months later that we got Luke - so it didn't work then though - it had the opposite effect! :)
