BFTB NETWoof News November 28, 2016

Bentley: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for the last week of November 2016. Wait…can that be right? This year has really flown by, hasn’t it? We have some great news stories for you this week so let’s begin. My co-anchor Pierre Westie has our top story.”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story Greyhound wins National Dog Show
Pierre: “While everyone was gobbling up their Thanksgiving dinners, some of the most outstanding dogs were busy competing for the title of Best in Show at the 15th National Dog Show in Philadelphia. This year featured an amazing group of entrants. The winner was a fabulous Greyhound named Gia. Of course, I have to give a shout-out to the winner in the Terrier group. Rondo the White West Highland Terrier was quite stunning. We congratulate all of the dogs that qualified for this prestigious honor. I still don’t understand why I was forced to get my hair brushed after Mom saw Rondo, though.”

BFTB NETWoof News Bentley's 9th birthday is coming
Bentley: “Well, if you’d let her groom you more often you might learn to love it like I do. Just sayin’. I do expect you to get a bath and wear your best party collar for my big birthday that is coming up on Saturday, December 3rd. It is my 9th and I am super stoked about it. We are having a wooftastic giveaway with toys, treats, and even a new doggy bed! I hope to have lots of friends stop by to enter and wish me a happy birthday. We will have a party here at the house and go for a walk if the weather cooperates.”
BFTB NETWoof News reports of Lab running off a bluff.
Pierre: “We can check with Paisley for the forecast and I hope she calls for sunny with a chance of cake! Our next report is about a dog that took a dive off a bluff in Tennessee. It seems that this happens much too often. Firefighters responded to a call to rescue a Yellow Lab after it decided to chase after an animal. The poor pup fell 40 feet off Signal Mountain. Rescuers used ropes to repel down to pull it to safety. Remarkably, the dog was uninjured.”
BFTB NETWoof News on cat stuck on pole for 9 days
Bentley: “Whew! I am sure that scared the humans and the dog. Our last story is another rescue but this time it is a cat named Fat Boy. You know how cats love to climb up things but are sometimes hesitant to climb back down? Well, Fat Cat scaled a 45’ power pole and refused to budge for NINE days! The family contacted the fire department and was referred to the power company. It is not so simple to get a cat down from a pole. A 12,000-volt line had to be de-energized to avoid harming the rescue workers. The process took some time and interrupted service to about 250 homes for several hours. Fat Boy was given some electrolytes at the vet and is resting at home. Do you think he learned his lesson, Paisley?”
BFTB NETWoof Weather forecast
Paisley: “I can’t say for sure but I hope so. What if there was a lightning storm? That would scare one of his nine lives out of him. There is a good chance everyone will experience some type of storms across the United States this week. Our friends in Idaho, Utah, North Dakota and the neighboring states have snow coming this week. Minnesota could get some wet snow on your birthday. Rain will be falling here in the Pacific Northwest which is normal for this time of year. It is going to be a wet week for much of the country starting today in the south and moving east throughout the week. There will be windy conditions accompanying these rains. Cooler temperatures will make it feel more like Christmas in the center of the U.S. while southern California and the southwest will remain mild and sunny. It is Cyber Monday so if the weather is frightful in your area, do some online shopping. Now, where is my dad’s credit card??”
Bentley: “I’m not telling unless you are ordering my birthday present. Hee hee! This is an exciting week for us here on the Bayou leading up to my big day on Saturday. We have our 2016 Christmas Gift Guide debut and some great posts for the holidays. Thanks for dropping by and we’d appreciate you sharing today’s news on your social media. Have a super week and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”
News Update: Our friend Easy was rushed to the emergency vet with bloat. Please send a special prayer to our favorite Weimaraner. ♥
*Latest Update from Easy's mom: "Your prayers and POTP helped... if everything looks good we can pick him up in the evening. He is not out of the woods and we have to talk with the vet about a final solution. The main thing is that he is still with us and we have a chance to find the best way for the pup. Many thanks for being on our side, it's the worst to be alone ...and to know you have friends who are with you is the helping hand we need in such sad moments..."

  6. What an exciting report! Doggies jumping off cliffs and kitty cats pole sitting. We have some sunshine right now, but that could change. In our part of the country the saying is, "if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."

    Hope Easy feels better soon.
