BFTB NETWoof News December 26, 2016

Bentley Basset Hound: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for the last week of 2016. We know you have been busy celebrating the holidays so we have fetched the good news that you might have missed. What is our top story, Pierre?”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story on a shelter that adopted out all their dogs and cats
Pierre Westie: “Santa Paws came early for the dogs and cats at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado. For the first time, the shelter was able to find loving homes for all 25 cats and 23 dogs that were waiting. Thanks to generous donors, they were able to waive the adoption fees on the pets over 5 years old. That makes my tail wag.”

Bentley: “That is a great way to kick off this report. I know many of our readers enjoy our news with their cup of coffee in the morning. Now there is a café in Jacksonville, Florida where you can have coffee or a meal with adoptable dogs. The Jacksonville Dog Café allows patrons to meet dogs in a relaxed atmosphere in hopes of finding a forever home. It is also a great way for people that can’t have dogs to get their puppy loving along with their latte.”
BFTB NETWoof News reporting on cat selfie app
Pierre: “We always like to share the newest pet apps with our readers. This is one for all of our cat friends and they are going to love it. It is called Candid Catmera and it takes selfies of your cat. Thanks to sophisticated cat face recognition technology, the app uses virtual fish, mice, and lasers to entice your kitty to play. You will get to select the shots you want to save and share on social media. It is not a free app but they do donate $1 of every download to the SPCA that helped them test the reaction of their cats.”
BFTB NETWoof News reporting on Dory's 13th birthday party
Bentley: “We have some Blogville news to share with you. Our friend Easy will be “coming home” on Wednesday. We will remember our friend by lighting a candle in his honor. There is a new puppy at his home too. If you haven’t met the adorable Da Phenny, please stop by and say ‘hello.’ He is a cutie! We want to wish Dory a happy 13th birthday. They are celebrating with a gala at her place today. We hate that we missed it but it looks like a grand time. To find out if the weather will cooperate, let’s turn to our trusted Weather Lab Paisley.”
BFTB Weather Lab Paisley reporting live from the Pacific Northwest
Paisley: “Oh the weather is really running the gamut this week. I don’t have to tell you that y’all had the 2nd hottest Christmas on record with a whopping 79°F. I hope that you didn’t have to dress up in a Santa suit with that heat. It was in the 30’s up here in the Pacific Northwest so it did feel like Christmas. The week ahead will bring some scattered showers here and on the bayou. Most of the west coast will be partly cloudy and mild while those on the east coast will have mid to late week showers. The southwest will be sunny just like the center of the U.S. The Great Plains will continue to be cold with a chance of snow. Finally, our friends up north will have cool or cold temperatures that will definitely feel like winter. Always check with your local weather updates for the latest weather warnings in your area. Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and may 2017 be your best year ever!”
Bentley: “We were definitely not roasting chestnuts on an open fire around here. Our air conditioning was on all day! Is it wrong to hope that our showers dampen the New Year’s fireworks? We will have some tips about welcoming 2017 with your pets later this week. There is something fun happening every day on the Bayou so stop by to see us. We will be back with the first news of 2017 next Monday. Until then, take care and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

  7. We'd heard of some cat cafes, but didn't know there were dog ones now too - yay! Anything that helps pets find homes is a very good thing.
While everyone else is worn out from Christmas, you guys and girls are hard at work bringing us the news - good job!

  8. Thank you for sharing the happy news about fur-ever homes from the Pikes Peak Shelter. There is a dog cafe in LA I think, but another one on the opposite coast makes my heart sing. Closer to home there is a cat cafe a few blocks away from our house. Glad to see you guys survived the 'howliday' in such fine fetter. Well done (as always!). 😃
