BFTB NETWoof News March 13 2017

Bentley Basset Hound: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for March 13, 2017. We have some great stories for you this week so let’s get right to it. Pierre, what is our top story?”
BFTB NETWoof News top story is National Puppy Day Giveaway from PrideBites
Pierre Westie: “As a PAWtner affiliate, I am super excited to share a PrideBites contest. As you may know, National Puppy Day is March 23rd and what better way to celebrate than with winning a “Puppy Starter Kit” from PrideBites? One lucky winner will receive a bed, blanket, placemat, collar and leash! You can personalize all of these pawsome goodies too. Entering is so easy; just visit the PrideBites giveaway page. We’d love for one of our readers to be the big winner!”

BFTB NETWoof News story on a blind Labrador was found after being lost for a week
Bentley: “Dogs love PrideBites so everyone should definitely enter for a chance to win. Let’s continue with the good news by reporting on an incredible rescue. A blind Labrador Retriever became lost in the Santa Cruz Mountains after wandering away from home. Sage is 12-years-old and lost her vision due to glaucoma. Neighbors and friends began searching for her but it took a week before someone found her lying in a stream. Her family is ecstatic to have her back safe at home.”
BFTB NETWoof News report on dog lost for 3 weeks
Pierre: “It seems to be a week for lost dog reports. Hikers in Australia’s Mt. Glorious National Park came across a dog stranded on a creek bed. Although they were almost an hour from their vehicle, they couldn’t leave her behind. Since she weighed almost 90 pounds, they devised a makeshift pouch and hung it from a large limb. Each of them hoisted an end and carefully made their way out of the park. The dog had been missing for three weeks and somehow made her way over 10 miles from home. She has also been reunited with her family.”
BFTB NETWoof News on a python in Thailand hunting on a telephone pole
Bentley: “I don’t know about you but I am not leaving the house without Mom and Dad. There is no way that I want to get lost in the woods. Our last story is from Thailand. A 10-foot python found a fine dining spot on top of a telephone pole where birds like to land. Knowing the predator could easily cause a fire and a major blackout, action had to be taken. When lassoing the snake didn’t work, officials had to turn off the power and poke it with sticks. Hopefully, the snake will find his next dinner on the ground.
Let’s turn to our Weather Lab for this week’s forecast. How is it looking out there, Paisley?”
Paisley the Weather Lab's forecast for the week of March 13, 2017
Paisley: “Winter is still hanging on in parts of the U.S. Our northern states will still be in the low 30’s and the northeast can expect snow the first part of the week. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we will be warmer but wet. California is going to have nice weather and the southwest states will enjoy sunny skies. The middle of the country should be mild and partly cloudy. The south will also have plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Our friends on the east coast will get a taste of spring this week too. I don’t expect any extreme weather but always tune to your local stations for updates and any warnings. Have a wonderful time no matter what the weather!”
Bentley: “Our flowers are in full bloom here on the bayou so we are already celebrating springtime. Thanks for the forecast, Paisley.
On behalf of the BFTB News team, we want to thank you for visiting today and invite you to stop by each day for more fun. We have some exciting things happening this week so you don’t want to miss a day. We would appreciate you sharing us with your friends on social media. 9. LOVE these 'reunited with owners' stories especially knowing that being on their own in the wild for an extended time makes for not great odds. We rescued an OES who was lost for over a week in a National Park and even the ranger was flabbergasted Finn was able to stay alive. I suspect he lived on squirrels and small ground critters since he never quite got over trying to hunt them while he lived with me. ❤︎
