BFTB NETWoof News March 27 2017

Bentley Basset Hound: Hello and welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. We have kept our nose to the ground sniffing out the best stories to share. Let’s turn to my co-anchor for our top story. Pierre?”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story of a hero dog rescuing a small child
Pierre Westie: “You know how much we enjoy a hero story and this one is incredible. A mixed-breed dog named Peanut was rescued a little over a year ago from a shelter. She was in terrible condition but with the love of her new family, she is doing great.

As a matter of fact, she has turned into a rescuer herself. Last week, Peanut began barking uncontrollably while racing up and down the stairs of her Michigan home. Once her adoptive dad let her outside, she ran to the field behind their house. She didn’t stop until reaching a ditch. Peanut’s human looked in the ditch and couldn’t believe his eyes. A naked three-year-old girl was curled up in a ball and shaking from the freezing temperatures. The man jumped into the ditch and used his shirt to wrap around the child and hurried back to his home. He called 911 and when the police and ambulance arrived, the little girl would only say one word; “Doggie.” Peanut is indeed a hero.”
BFTB NETWoof News report of dog following funeral procession
Bentley: “That is what I call paying it forward. We know the love of a dog is very special and this next report shows that we love our people forever. This is about Bobby, a dog in Malaysia whose elderly human passed away. The family planned the funeral which included a procession to the cemetery. It was two miles into the trip to the place of burial when the mourners noticed Bobby was trotting along with the cars. Once they arrived, he lied down beside the casket and waited for the ceremony to begin. It was obvious that Bobby loved his person very much and wanted to say his final goodbyes.”
BFTB NETWoof News report on cat eating snake
Pierre: “What an aww-inspiring report. Our next story is one of the most bizarre of the week. I am not a fan of snakes and bark out a warning anytime one gets into our yard. I would never try to eat one, though. That is not the case of a black cat named Marian. She decided a snake would make a tasty snake and swallowed it whole. Anything you eat usually comes out the opposite end, but that is not what happened. Marian’s owner noticed something hanging from her nose and when he reached to get it, he realized it was a long slender snake! *shudder They were able to hold the cat down and remove it. Hopefully, Marian will be more selective in her afternoon snacks from now on!”
BFTB NETWoof News reports on most popular dog in the USA
Bentley: “That is the stuff that nightmares are made from. Let’s cleanse our minds of that by taking a look at the most popular dog breeds in America. Coming in at number 10 is the Dachshund. Shout out to our friends Frankie & Ernie! Counting down from there is the Rottweiler, Poodle, Boxer, Yorkshire Terrier, Bulldog, Beagle, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, and the number one dog is the Labrador Retriever. We are shocked that neither the Basset nor Westie appeared on this prestigious list. It is a great way to segue into our forecast with everyone’s favorite Weather Lab, Paisley.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather with Paisley the Labrador
Paisley the Labrador: “Thank you so much, Bentley. Not to brag but my family already thinks I am the best breed ever. Unfortunately, the weather is not going to be the best ever. Just about everyone will have rain. Basically, the rain will begin on the west coast and travel across the country throughout the week. The sunny spot will be the southwest where the skies will be clear and the temperatures warm. Most of the temperatures will be above 40°F and in the southern states; you can expect the 80’s. Some of the rain will be accompanied by high winds so stay tuned to your local stations for updates and warnings. If the skies are cloudy where you live, let your smile light up the day.”
Bentley: That’s a beautiful sentiment, Paisley. It’s no wonder that you are so popular.

  3. We feel bad for that poor dog losing its human and lying by the casket. That is serious dedication! As for the top ten breeds, no worried boys! It's best to be less popular as it makes you more unique and special ;) Take that from a breed no one even recognizes!

  5. Those were some very good news stories, especially the one about the dog finding the little girl. Thanks for posting them. How times have changed. Cocker spaniels used to be one of the most popular breeds for a long time. Now ghostwriter hardly ever sees them anymore. We do see a few westies around the neighborhood, and a basset lives around the block.

  15. Great stories, guys! Well, except for the snake story. We could have done without that. BOL!
Rain is fine with us this week, it is way better than snow! Our rain did start out as ice today though, that was not so good. Hopefully we're done with that now!

  16. Great stories, guys! As for the "top 10 breeds" I have say I'm a dachshund girl, a dog lover in general, and a big fan of Angel, a Bassett Hound who lives around the corner from me. I love the way she talks to me and because of Angel, I'm sure all Bassetts are great dogs (and probably great talkers, too).

  17. OMD We Love PEANUT's Wonderful Story. She is a true HEROINE ... BRAVO to PEANUT...
BUTT we do NOT think much of the Snake story... ISH... that is soooooo Icky... just think about having a Snake slithering around in your Innards ... WORSE than having WORMS.

OMDachshunds.... we came in 10th????? Kinda surprising actually... what with our SHORT LEGS it is so hard to get to the Head of the Pack. Just sayin .
We are VERY MUCH HONORED to make Your MONDAY NEWS Cast. THANKS !!!!
