BFTB NETWoof News March 6 2017

Bentley Basset Hound: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for March 6, 2017. We have fetched the good stories from across the globe to start your week off with a smile. What is our top story, Pierre?”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story is a collapsed snow fort rescue
Pierre Westie: “A dog is being credited with saving his Nova Scotia family when their snow fort collapsed on top of them.  The father, his two sons and a friend were inside their fort when the roof suddenly fell, trapping the man’s arms and legs. He heard barking and felt this five-year-old Golden Retriever tugging on his jacket. Once the dog had pulled him out, he hollered for neighbors to come help him dig the children out. He shared his story to warn others of the dangers of homemade snow forts.”

BFTB NETWoof News reports on cat and bird friendship
Bentley: “That must have been very scary. Friends are so important. That brings me to our next story about best friends. A ten-year–old cat has more than accepted the parakeet that his mom brought home. After a hesitant first meeting, the two get along and spend most of the day together. They explore the house, watch out the window and even play hide and go seek. Isn’t that purr-fect?”
BFTB NETWoof News reports on the still pregnant giraffe
Pierre: “True friendship, just like love, is blind. You might remember last week when we reported on all of the people waiting and watching for April the giraffe to give birth. Well, this baby is sure going to hear about how long it took to arrive. As we go live on this newscast, the baby has still not made an appearance. The folks at Animal Adventure Park are still keeping the live video focusing on the mom-to-be and believe it will be any day now.”
BFTB NETWoof Sports on Bailie the GBGV nose work title
Bentley: “Hopefully, next week we will be able to say the baby is here and doing great. Until then, let’s take look at BFTB Sports. Our good friend, Bailie from My GBGV Life received her Level 1 for Interior Element title in Appleton, WI last weekend. She also received one leg toward a title in container searches. She has been giving her nose a good workout and we are so proud of her.”
BFTB NETWoof Sports reports on the Iditarod
Pierre: “Bailie is such an awesome girl and does great in her competitive field of nose work. Speaking of competitions, they are prepping for the Iditarod in Alaska. The 1,000-mile sled race begins today in Fairbanks and ends in the coastal town of Nome. This year’s event will feature 72 teams of mushers and their dogs. They will face gale-force winds and temperatures as low as -40° over the nine to seventeen days race. I hope we won’t be seeing temps that low here in the lower 48, Paisley.”
BFTB NETWoof News' Paisley the Weather Lab give her weekly forecast
Paisley: “You don’t have to worry about that, Pierre. Most of the country will be sunny and warm. The northern states will have rainy skies while those of you in the south could see scattered storms. The west coast will be mild with nice weather as will most of the east coast. It’s the plains and the center of the country where it will seem as if spring has arrived a few weeks early. As always, if inclement weather is expected in your area, tune into local weather stations for updates and warnings. This is Paisley the Weather Lab wishing you a beautiful week ahead.”
Bentley: “Thanks, Paisley. It is always great to hear from you. The week ahead is guaranteed to be lots of fun so we hope that everyone stops by each day to visit. You can also follow us on social media at Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. For the BFTB NETWoof News Team, have an awesome week and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

  3. They said on the news here about a week ago that it could take another one to two weeks for that giraffe to be born! Talk about slow! Great story about the snow fort. That seems to happen every year, but sometimes the humans are not so lucky! Thanks for mentioning Bailie. We are proud of her. Have a good week!

  9. Golden retrievers are awesome! I remember making snow forts as a kid, but I don't ever remember any collapsing. Of course the weather was probably more normal back then - winters stayed cold like they are supposed to!
    Great bunch of news, guys!
