BFTB NETWoof News April 10 2017

Bentley Basset Hound: “Greetings and welcome to this week’s edition of BFTB NETWoof News. We are so happy that you have joined us today. My co-anchor, Pierre has our top story.”
BFTB NETWoof Dog News top story on dog and cat memories

Pierre Westie: “Topping the news is a study on how long dogs and cats remember things. Results seem to show that both species remember anything having to do with food quite well. It is a matter of survival for them. They also recall tricks when used in repetition. Both dogs and cats will know their humans after years of separation. I personally can remember which trees have the most squirrels!”
BFTB NETWoof Dog News story: Dog returns home after four years
Bentley: “My mind is like a steel trap. I remember everything; especially when it comes to food! That study showed that animals can find their way home too. Such is the case in our next story. A man in Rowan County, North Carolina was shocked when he opened his front door last week. A dog was standing there that looked just like Molly, his dog that had disappeared four years earlier. He wasn’t certain but when he sat down and the dog came over and put her head on his lap, it sure seemed possible. That is when he drove the dog to the Animal Care Center to check for a microchip. It only took a few minutes to find the microchip. There was no doubt that it was indeed his beloved Molly! They may never know where she has been but they are so thankful to have her back where she belongs.”
BFTB NETWoof Dog News reports on new animals at the Denver Zoo
Pierre: “That is so sweet. Now, to a story that we have been covering for over a month; let me just say that I have doubts about April the Giraffe ever giving birth! While we have been on giraffe watch, the folks at Denver’s zoo introduced several new babies last month. There are two Red Panda cubs, four new lion cubs, a baby zebra, and yes, even a giraffe! If you are in the area, you should stop by for some aww’s and ohhh’s. Meanwhile, we will still keep an eye on April for any developments.”
BFTB NETWoof News says goodbye to Dory with love

Bentley: “It is with extremely heavy hearts that we say goodbye to one of our favorite friends. Dory from Dory’s Backyard fought a short but valiant fight against heart disease.  She lost her battle on Sunday with her mom and dad by her side. Please stop by her blog to let them know how much she was loved and offer your support at this difficult time. The Rainbow Bridge just became a little brighter with her smile.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather Lab Paisley with this week's forecast
Paisley the Weather Lab: “Dory was one of a kind and she will be sorely missed. I’m sure we will pay tribute to her life in an upcoming post.
Let’s take a look at this week’s weather forecast. There will be plenty of rain and showers for most of the United States. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we are expecting light showers but California will have late week rain. Across the northern states, there will be more scattered showers but nice weather midweek. The center of the country can look forward to fair skies and nice temperatures. It’ll be sunny and warm in the southwest with more scattered storms in the south. Florida will be sunny and warm but as we move up the east coast there will be some isolated showers. As always, stay tuned to your local stations for weather updates and warnings. Have a wonderful week no matter what the weather!”
Bentley: “Thanks, Paisley. We will keep our paws crossed that there won’t be any truly dangerous storms out there.
On behalf of the BFTB News team, thank you for choosing us as your news source. Join us all week as we share more fun and laughs. Be kind to one another and be sure to grab yourself some happy!”

  3. Funny how we dog know our humans right away, but the humans need to check our chips to know it is us? We are so sad this morning about Dory. It happened so fast and we feel so bad for her family. She will be missed!

  6. I always remember who gave me which squeaky toy. When that person comes to visit, I will find the squeaky toy that person gave me, even if it's at the bottom of my squeaky toy storage facility, and show it around to everyone.

We all have heavy hearts today because of Dory's passing, and are sending lots of hugs and POTP to her family.

  9. Dogs and cats definitely have great memories! Our beagle Kobi never forgot our neighbor's house where they gave him treats....even years after they were gone, he would still pull towards that house when we walked by it!
