We all know that dogs and cats get lost but we hope that it never happens to our own pets. The truth is that 10 million pets go missing every year and millions of those are euthanized in high kill shelters. Those are staggering numbers.
How can we keep our four-legged friends from becoming a statistic? There are several things that you should be doing to ensure your best friend doesn’t disappear.
PAWtechnologies tags can help you reunite with your pets

Tips to Keep Your Pet from Getting Lost
• Teach your dog to “come” when called
• Microchip your pet
• Keep your dog or cat on a leash when outdoors
• If you allow your dog outside, make sure your yard is securely fenced
• Have an up-to-date tag on your dog’s collar

Let’s take a closer look at dog tags. There are hundreds to choose from but I recently discovered PAWtechnologies tags which do much more than just hang on your pet’s collar.

How PAWtechnologies Works
PAWtechnologies thinks the most effective way to reunite pets with their humans is visual identification. According to statistics, 90% of pets that are returned is a result of visual identification and description. Their tags clearly have the pet’s name along with your telephone number on one side. The other side features a glow-in-the-dark paw print that is also their logo.
As soon as you notice that your pet is missing, all you need to do is contact PAWtechnologies and they do the rest. They create a PDF flyer with your pet’s photo and information then distribute it to thousands of outlets. The flyer will immediately go to veterinary offices, shelters, and animal rescues within a 25-50 mile radius of where your pet was last seen. You have access to the flyer so sharing via your social media, email, or text message is simple. Think of PAWtechnologies as your insurance against stress.
Get started protecting your pet today! Coverage begins for only $39.97 with a tag or $34.97 without a tag per pet annually. All you have to do is

  4. We are big fans of tags and chips. I am always surprised at the number of lost dogs in my neighborhood who have no collar on when they get lost. So sad for them and their owners.

  10. We are all chipped, so far we haven't had to worry about being lost. But that sounds like a great idea, especially if you move around or have other people mind your animals when you go away.

  12. Wow, what a great service! I know from following local lost pet groups that getting flyers out is the best way to find a lost pet. Not having to deal with making your own while feeling so stressed out is really a great thing!

  14. This is a really important message & nice tags. Tags + Microchip = Get Back Home Safe It's that simple. The heartbreak of pets in the shelter that came in with NO identification is heartbreaking.
