One
of the most helpless feelings for a pet parent is when our pups aren’t feeling
good. They can’t tell us where they hurt and we are left to guess or take a
trip to the veterinarian. The question is, “What can we do to help protect our
best friends from illness?”
How To
Keep Your Dog Healthy
• Feed
high quality food
We feed the Bayou
Boys Dr. Harvey’s Paradigm. It is a “green food” pre-mix that is
specially-blended as the perfect base for a low carb diet. Holistic vets
believe this can help prevent, manage and overcome serious problem like
obesity, immune issues, diabetes and even cancer!
•
Regular veterinarian visits
Your veterinarian
should give you a schedule for regular check-ups. Puppies and senior dogs need
to see their vet more often to ensure their quality of health.
• Add Supplements
Bentley and Pierre
get daily supplements. One we recommend is Dr. Harvey’s E-Mune Boost. This
whole-food supplement contains powerful herbs that help the body’s immune
fighting abilities. It is filled with vitamins and minerals that may help combat disease.
• Fresh Water
It is very important
that our dogs stay hydrated. Fresh water should always be readily available at
all times. Water bowls need to be washed daily.
• Exercise
Dogs need daily
exercise to stay healthy and help them control their weight. Walking is a great
way to bond and stay in shape together. They will appreciate getting out of the
house as much as you. Of course, if you can’t go for a walk, be sure to play
some games indoors.
• Lots of Love
Dogs need love every
single day. They are not meant to be put outdoors and forgotten about except
for feeding time. You will find that both you and your dog’s overall health
will improve with unconditional love. A few belly rubs and snuggles never hurt
either!

ReplyDeleteIt is really important as we change seasons too. Nobody wants a runny nose and slobber! LOL!
DeleteSounds like a terrific food! We love drinking out of our fountain too. We get lots of love from our parents...it is so sad to see the news sometimes when they talk about these terrible living conditions for some pups...
ReplyDeleteAll of Dr. Harvey's foods are fabulous! Pierre knows if I run out and he has to eat something else for a day or two. He won't hardly touch any other food. Our dogs are so lucky.
DeleteWe are a huge bunch of snugglers, so love is all over the place here and we try to eat pretty healthy too! Stay healthy boys!

Thank you sooo much!!
DeleteGreat information! My childhood dog Ginny lived for 17 years. In those days we didn't really have pets' health as top of mind as we do today - there was so little accurate information. I always think how lucky we were to have her for so many healthy years. I truly believe the huge amount of exercise she got every day running in the woods next door had something to do with it. Lots of exercise and keeping their weight down is so important, especially combined with a super healthy diet.

Seventeen is a wonderful life! I'm sure running and staying fit helped a great deal.
