A Different Kind of Love Story

Bentley Basset Hound: “Hey y’all! We have given Mom and Dad the day off so they can celebrate their anniversary. Those two crazy kids went off on an adventure and left us at home to work.”
Pierre Westie: “That is really sweet of us but what are we going to do? Mom usually helps us with a subject and Dad takes the photos.
Hey, I know! We can tell a story and draw our own pictures. That sounds like a Terrier-ific idea!”
Bentley: “I see what you did there and I appreciate the idea. Since it is the peeps' anniversary, why don’t we tell their story? We've certainly heard it enough times!”

Once upon a time like a gazillion years ago, Mom’s brother brought home a new friend from school. Little did either of them know what life had in store for their futures.
~ Time Passes & Life Happens ~
Pierre: “It was the early 80’s when they started dating. I’d like to tell you they met at a breakdancing competition when Dad was carrying a boombox on his shoulder and spotted Mom’s huge hairdo and fell in love but the truth is much more boring romantic.”
Bentley: “I can’t go into details because you know, thinking about romance and your parents is just gross. Anyway, they did fall in love and get married.”
Pierre: “After they were married for a few years, they decided to add to their family of dogs and cats with human babies! That was a very fun time in their lives except they didn’t have a Basset Hound or a Westie so true happiness was eluding them in my opinion.”
Bentley: “I came to live with them in January of 2008. That is when the good times really started happening. I made their family perfect. You know what a ray of sunshine I can be.”
Pierre: “What I think I heard them say was that having me has made their lives even more perfect. Let’s face it, we are great for their marriage. Did Mom and Dad mention anything about bringing home cake? If they go somewhere fun, do you think they will bring us home souvenirs?”
Bentley: “You are probably wondering how we managed to make their anniversary love story about us. Well, we just have a way with words and they DID leave us in charge. Happy anniversary, y’all!”
Pierre: “You forgot to say they lived happily ever after.”
Bentley: “They lived happily ever after. The End.”
