BFTB NETWoof News September 3, 2018

Bentley Basset Hound: “Welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for September 3, 2018. It is Labor Day here in America which means a three-day weekend for many and the end of summer for most. We are back at the anchor desk after last week’s exciting special report from Paisley the Weather Lab a.k.a. Big Sister. The search for good news proved to be extremely difficult this week. There are a lot of really nasty things happening in the human world when it comes to animals. We have a couple of fun stories but must sadly start with some serious stuff. Pierre?”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story: Ikea recall
Pierre Westie: “Our top story is a recall from Ikea effecting some 16,700 pet water dispensers. The $7.99 product can be a suffocation hazard to small dogs and cats. Their heads can become trapped in the inverted tank. Two dogs have already died prompting the massive recall. Ikea is urging all customers to stop using the dispenser and return it for a full refund.”
BFTB NETWoof News Warning: Serial cat killer in Washington state
Bentley: “This next story is very upsetting, but we feel it is important to warn our cat friends about a possible serial killer. The area around Olympia, Washington is on the lookout for some sicko that is murdering cats. The mutilated remains are being found in public places for shock value. They have set up a 10- person task force to track down the killer. Twelve cats have been found since February but seven of those were in August. A reward of $35,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of this psychopath. It is our hope that someone can stop them before another cat is harmed.”

Pierre: “Let’s fetch something to put a smile on your face. Moonpie the calf was adopted by Janice Wolf, the founder of Rocky Ridge Animal Refuge after she heard about him from a friend. Moonpie was such a little thing that Janice brought him into her house so he wouldn’t get trampled by the larger animals.
Did we mention that the calf shares the house with a dozen dogs? They welcomed him into the pack and nobody has the heart to tell Moonpie that he isn’t one of the dogs.  His best friend is a deaf bull terrier named Spackle. She even allows him to help take care of her puppy! I guess it’s true that besties come in all shapes and sizes.”

Bentley: “That was a very moo-ving story. Heehee! Our last story is so unbelievable that we had to share with y’all.
A zoo in Cairo is denying that they have painted a donkey to pass off as a zebra but there seems to be photographic proof to the contrary. Last week a student visited the Cairo International Garden Municipal Park and was surprised by the appearance of their zebra. Not only was the animal too small and had long pointed ears, but the paint on its face was smeared! It is amazing what humans will try to get away with these days.
How are your new little sister and the weather, Paisley?”
Paisley the Weather Lab: “Both are looking wonderful. We finally have what is shaping up to be a great forecast. There will be cooler temperatures almost everywhere. The southwest is still going to see triple digits but the 80’s and 90’s are going to be the norm. There will be a few thunderstorms popping up in a few areas, but I don’t expect anything too bad. Always stay tuned to your local weather for any updates or warnings.
My baby sister is a week old and she is growing sweeter each day. I guard her all the time. When Grandma is holding her, I keep my head on her knee just in case one of them needs me. Okay, gotta run, I think I hear her calling me!  Have a terrific week.”
Bentley: “Thank you for joining us this week. If you are enjoying an extra day off, be sure to include your pet in the fun. We are supposed to get rain so we are going to be hunkered down working on this week’s posts. Join us for some fun reviews and even funnier stories.
You can stay up to date on Barking from the Bayou by following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
On behalf of the BFTB news team, enjoy your day and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

  1. we think IKEA is no dogfriendly store in any way. the weirdest things what humans can do are tolerated there but no dogs... so we better stay away from their products too...
Happy Labor Day to you ;O)

  2. Whoa! You do have some scary news there! Mom says painting animals is just wrong. Some chalk in the furs for fun color that washes right out is alright of special occasions, but nothing to try and fool anyone. Enjoy your holiday today...most likely with the new little baby.

  5. Great news cast, guys! We're getting tired of this hot weather here. It was supposed to cool off last week, but it only lasted one day!

  7. We quadruple this sentence: I guess it’s true that besties come in all shapes and size and we add species!!

Paisley if I had a sister I'd want her to be just as attentive as you are.

Any SICKO that would go around murdering cats is capable of horrendous things. We hope the sicko is found quickly

  11. We will try to focus on those good stories, and not the bad! But we can see why it's important you shared those bad ones, so people who need to can be aware. We wish all news could be good all the time, but that is sadly not the case.
That zoo story was so ridiculous! The things we humans do....
