This is another
Thoughtless Thursday Blog hop. I am
hopping with the hosts Eskie the Ruskie and Love is being owned by a Husky. Today’s post is thoughtless
because the great people at BlogPaws did the hard work for me.
I am lucky to be a member of BlogPaws Pet Blogger Influencer Group. Each week the 300+ pet blogging members answer a number of survey questions. Today I am going to share the first Influencer Infographic.
As you can see,
there was a variety of topics presented to us.
I found a few surprises, but it seems one thing is very clear…Pet
Bloggers love their pets!
Not surprisingly,
96% surveyed would borrow money or do without things to help care for their
pet. A majority of Pet Bloggers (82%) plan
to monetize their blog. It is always
nice to be paid for doing what you love.
It appears the
holidays were good to our pets with 34% spending between $25 ~ $50 for
Christmas. Over half of us had pet gifts
wrapped under the tree. The influence of
pet bloggers on purchase decisions is a whopping 41%.
The amount of
online shopping is across the board. At
least ¼ of the pet bloggers surveyed make almost half of their purchases
online. I wonder if this is because most
pet shops are dog friendly. It is one of
the few places that I can take Bentley and Pierre.
Do we use “human”
products on our pets? Yes indeed. I use all of the products listed except the
human toothbrush. Bentley has his own
doggy toothbrush and toothpaste. I also
use John Paul Pet wipes since I have discovered them.
Now, do you wonder
when and why we blog about our pets?
According to the infographic, you should never run out of fresh blog
posts. The Pet Blogger Influence Group
posts 1 to 5 times a week. Over half of
the Influencer group members’ blog in order to share information concerning
pets to their readers. Approximately the
same amount plan to, or are already earning money from their site. BlogPaws members like to showcase their work
and help support shelters. One of the
important percentages is the 74% that consider their blog a resource for
themselves and their readers to make future pet products purchases. That’s a big influence!

Blogger Influencer Survey provides these results and infographic from January
2014.
