As I pondered what
today’s post would be about, my e-mail dinged with incoming mail. It was the Blogpaws Influencers Group infographic
for March. I am proud to be a part of
this group. We show the world what type
of force the pet bloggers are in educating, promoting products, and helping the
causes that are dear to our hearts.
Each week, I
complete a short survey and send it in where it is meshed with the other
bloggers that are a part of the Influencers Group. At the end of the month, the results are
compiled into a spiffy infographic that shows how everyone responded to their
survey. The March questions related to Bloggers
& Brands.
Do I buy products after working with a
brand? YES! I
have been very fortunate to be able to work with some fabulous brands. I am now a big fan of John Paul Pet Products,
Louisiana Alligator treats, Damien’s Best Dog Toys, Barkworthies, Indigo FreshDental Bones, Sticks, and Sauce, Purely Personalized Pet, Petbrosia, and Little EatzCookies. Bentley and Pierre never
recommend products that they don’t believe in and use themselves. Obviously, I am not alone in this because 75
out of 100 other pet bloggers do the same.
Am I the main pet purchaser in my home? I
say that I am but in reality, my husband and I usually shop together, so we
make the decisions together. That seems
the norm with 97% of the bloggers make the pet product buying decisions.
How much on average do I spend each month on
pet care, supplies, and food? This varies but I’ll admit to spending a
bit over $100 monthly on the boys. If we
have to visit the vet, or get Pierre groomed, that price will be higher. Again, I am in the 55% of blogging parents.
Is working with brands a part of my
blogging strategy? That is an unequivocal yes! Being able to work with brands is a great way
to grow Barking from the Bayou. I enjoy
sharing new products along with well-known brands with you, my readers. It gives me a great opportunity to meet brand
representatives and promote them. As you
can see, 85% of all pet bloggers hope to work with brands.
Do you donate to any shelter/rescue/shelter
causes? I help by posting information each week
concerning my local PetSavers no-kill shelter.
It would be great to be able to donate tons of cash to great causes, but
that is not in my financial budget at this time. My plan is to donate time helping this great
shelter as soon as I finish my current book.
Where do I shop for my pet products? I
like to support my locally independent pet
store. Although I do enjoy my trips to Petco and
Petsmart, it is important to me that I give some of my pet monies to a local
store. Pet Zone is a friendly shop with a great variety of products.
How do I use my Pet Blogger voice? My
goal is to introduce great pet products to you, give helpful tips, recipes, or
warnings, and help find homes for shelter pets.
I want all of you to leave here with a smile, a chuckle, and a bit of
knowledge.
What type of retailers would I like to work
with? I would be thrilled to work with a combination of
businesses. Just like the other 82% of
bloggers, it would be terrific to collaborate with local, national, and online
retailers. I also enjoy bringing small
family-owned pet businesses to you.
I hope that you
learned a little more about Barking from the Bayou’s hopes, dreams, and
plans. If there is a subject or product
that you would like us to discuss, please don’t hesitate to suggest it in the
comments.

Interesting to see how you answered these questions! Love this infographic and thought it gives some good insight to pet bloggers. Donating tons of money is also not in my budget. But I do occasionally donate $5 here and $10 there when I can. Mostly at nipclub but I've been to busy to attend lately :(
ReplyDeleteI thought it was interesting to see a lot of the answers, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I love that they send us these infographics to blog about! Such great info
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I like you answers and I like the idea of product reviews. I learnt a lot and I found some really good things! Have a great friday!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your answers to those questions, M.K. I feel like I know you and your blog a little better now. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for co-hosting the Pet Parade!
I also spent over $100 monthly on a single cat. They're worth it, right?
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Mom doesn't want to know how much she spends on us, for sure more than $100, but it is what she wants to do except for the vet bills ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post! As a longtime blogger, but recent member of Blog Paws I am learning bunches that I never even thought of in conjunction to dog blogging!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a post! Happy Friday & Pet Parading! ~Rascal and Rocco
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'm part of the Influencer group too but I haven't had a chance to really go over this month's infographic yet. Very creative use of the infographic and I love the way you gave insight into your answers.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend!
Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteGreat post - good summary of the survey findings and your plans. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for explaining your answers to the survey. I must of missed that email or it got lost in cyber space as I didn't see it. Come to think of it, I don't think I filled out a survey in a while.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you shared the infographic, I hadn't even had a chance to look at it yet. I also enjoyed hearing how you answered the questions. I always like to shop locally when I can, but unfortunately, living in a rural area, we don't have a lot to choose from. One local pet shop sells puppies so I won't shop there, and the other one is larger, doesn't sell pets, but is just not very nice. So mostly I shop online, but I'm always happy if I find retailers within New England that way (like Damien's Best who I found through you!).
