**Maxwell "The Axe" Smart the Shih Tzu anchors the action of the opening ceremonies live from the parade-reviewing stand.  He definitely gave a tail-wagging description of the band, drill teams, drum corps, The Royal Canine Brigade with their Feline Drill Team, and the esteemed Mayor Madi. 

Opening Speech – Madi 

  ***Mayor Madi gave a heartfelt speech thanking the Blogville residents, Police Commissioner Sarge, and our Chief of Police, Sidebite.  In a style that has made her such a popular mayor, Madi ended with some great jokes.

Parade – Sarge                                                 

  **Sarge did a fabulous job keeping the parade safe and on schedule.  There were so many floats, musicians, and fancy rides but thanks to the Police Department, everything flowed smoothly.
