If
you are a faithful follower of Barking from the Bayou, there is one thing
you’ve probably figured out about me. I
love to enter contests on my friends’ blogs.
There are several reasons for this.
I like to support their efforts for holding giveaways. It’s a great way to discover new products for
myself. Last, but certainly not least…I
LOVE WINNING! ☺
Over the summer, I won a giveaway from Carol
Bryant’s Fidose of Reality. I must
apologize for not reviewing this great Doggie Baggage sooner. I usually set my prize away until I write
about it. I don’t want to forget to
acknowledge whatever the prize. The
problem with my pink and purple bag is that I couldn’t wait to put it to
use. I was so excited to find it the
perfect size for our day trips. I won
the small pink and purple bag, which is 14” W x 9” H with an adorable paws and
bones pattern. There is one Doggie Baggage’s
signature pleated pocket along with two flat pockets on each side.
We fill our bag with a drool towel, wipes,
brush, treats, portable water bowl, toys, and anything else we might need for our
trip. I depend on my Doggie Baggage as
much as I used to depend on my diaper bag when we had babies. As we travel more with the boys, I realize a
travel bag is an absolute must. I can vouch that Doggie Baggage bags are durable, convenient, easy to clean, and a
pet parent’s best friend. Bentley is
whining for the duffel bag before we travel to BlogPaws 2015. This one will be added to my Christmas
list. Thanks so much to Fidose of Realty
and Doggie Baggage, I love my bag. ♥
As summer drew to a close, Diane Silver from To Dog with Love contacted me with the news that I won her Kroger and Abound
giveaway. This prize made me
squeal! Diane was invited to attend a
special event at the Kroger’s headquarters in Cincinnati. It sounded like a wonderful opportunity and a
lot of fun. You can read her account of
the trip here. Kroger announced a new
line of quality dog and cat food they named, Abound.
One of the benefits of the trip was to host a
fantastic Abound giveaway. I was amazed
to win seven pouches of Abound wet dog food, one 16 lb. bag of dry Abound, one
pouch of Abound dog treats and a FIFTY-dollar gift card. After waiting several weeks, I began to fret
since I’d not received anything. Then, a
couple of weeks ago, I received the gift card, and TWO coupons for each of the
Abound products! Inside my package was a
sweet hand-written note from the Powerhouse Factories for Kroger apologizing
for the delay and telling me they had doubled my coupons for the wait. WOW!!!
We have shopped at Kroger for over thirty years
and have witnessed many changes. The one
thing that has been consistent is their friendly staff and quality food. We hurried to the store to get our new Abound pet food. After a thorough scan, I had
to ask where the Abound was located.
This is when I learned that the new food is not available at every
Kroger location. We drove over to the
store my Kroger said carried their new brand.
I was glad to have an excuse to drive to this store, because they have a
Starbucks. I love an excuse for Starbucks
espresso!
I checked the flavors and the ingredients listed
on the back of each product. Abound uses
quality ingredients in every product. We
choose the following: one 14 lb. bag of Salmon & Sweet Potato dry food,
seven stews in gravy with chicken vegetable with brown rice, lamb & brown
rice and salmon with sweet potatoes, then one pouch of grain free duck & potato
recipe jerky bites.
So far, we have only tried the gravy poured over
our current dry dog food. The boys were
tail wagging happy and licked their bowls clean. They are big fans of all the gravies. I love that they are chocked full of meat and
veggies. The only thing I love more than this load of goodies is
that thanks to Kroger’s Abound and To Dog with Love, we can get all this
again! Thank you, thank you, and thank
you!
As September gave way to October, Sue Kottwitz
from For Love of a Dog Art, Jewlery, & Gifts and Talking Dogs blog told me that I had won her September
giveaway! Woo Hoo! If you have never browsed the exquisite
jewelry available on For Love of a Dog, prepare yourself to be amazed. Sue does beautiful, quality work. Each time that I pick out my favorite piece,
I go to the next page and find my next favorite piece. Several will be on my Christmas list. She also carries Christmas ornaments with a
wide choice of breeds. I love her
feeding stations and leash hooks. You
can check off every pet lover in your list at her online store.
I
had won her earrings giveaway in May and I absolutely love my white dog bone
earrings with floral lampwork in black and white on sterling silver. They match everything and are so cute. I knew this bracelet would be amazing and I
was right. It is designed with mauve floral
lampwork with a copper dog bone. It is
elegant enough for a night on the town and fun enough to wear with jeans and a
blouse or jacket. I will be accessorizing
most of outfits with my new dog lover’s bracelet. Thank you so much Sue!
