Did he or didn't he? Find out our Top Story below. |
Bentley: “Welcome to this week’s
BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News. I’m Bentley
and along with my co-host Pierre, we bring you all the news we nose. Hee Hee!
That’s a newshound joke. Our top
story today is not a joke, but a case of “Do All Dogs Go to Heaven?” It was widely reported that Pope Francis
comforted a small child with the words, “One day we will see our animals
again. Paradise is open to all of God’s
creatures.” The Vatican spokesperson has
discredited the account, but not before it went viral. What do you think Pierre?”
Pierre:
“I am at a loss as to why this is even a question. It’s like the author James Thurber said, “If I
have any beliefs about immortality, it is that certain dogs I have known will
go to heaven and very, very, few persons.”
Anyway, my plan is to live forever and so far, so good! Speaking of good, here is a great story about
Chance.”
Bentley: “You must be referring to
the story out of Tennessee. A disabled
Vietnam Vet fell and was bleeding. He
was also unconscious. Luckily his dog, a
Pit Bull/Boxer mix was there to help.”
Pierre:
“That’s right Bentley. Chance
may have hip dysplasia and be ten-years old, but that didn’t keep him from pawing
the door open. He somehow managed to
jump the fence and go to the neighbors.
When they saw him with blood on his paws and nose, they ran back to
Chance’s home. His owner was still on
the floor. The neighbors were previously
scared of the big dog, but now consider Chance a hero.”
Bentley: “That is what I call the
Chance of a lifetime! Before we move to
the sports, I’d like to give a Christmas card count. I believe that you can see from my chalk tote
board that Pierre and I have received a gazillion several more than Mom
and Dad. I’m sure theirs are just
delayed for some good reason. *Whispers to Pierre; “The reason is they
aren’t getting any! Snicker
Pierre:
“On the…giggle,
snicker On the sports front, we are pleased to announce that our
German-shorthaired Pointer pal, Cello has done it again! For the second year in a row, she has taken
first place in the Finals at Easton Waterfowl Festival in Easton, MD. This time, she won first in the Elite
Division. That is one whole entire
division higher than last year’s Masters Division. You can keep up with Cello and her little
brother Hooch on Instagram or their website, Cello's Corner.”

Cello is flying high in Elite Dock Diving. |
Bentley: “I’m not sure if this is
considered sporting news other than it involves a very awesome award winning
Chesapeake Bay Retriever from our friends at Sand Spring Chesapeakes. Their sweet girl Glory will find out if she
is going to become a mommy this Wednesday, December 17th. She goes in for an ultra-sound, so let’s keep
our paws crossed for her.”
Pierre:
“Puppies are fun. At
least that is what Gramma said. She saw
her potential new granddog yesterday.
Your human boy is getting a chocolate Lab puppy. Can you believe that?”
Bentley: “I am not surprised. The poor dude is probably at a total loss
without me around. He and his wife need
a pup to call their own. I wish them
nothing, but sunny skies. That’s a lot
more than I can wish for us. It looks like
we are going to endure some thunderstorms today. After rolling through the Bayou, these nasty
storms will continue to head east. The
rest of the country will be experiencing rain and possibly a few mudslides. Y’all grab your galoshes; it’s going to be a
messy week.”
Pierre:
“We are so happy to have you join us today. Bentley, do you have any final words?’
Bentley: Yes; as always, stay safe, and
be sure to grab yourself some happy.”
