"Welcome to the world!" |
Pierre:
“That’s just awesome.
There is nothing like a litter of puppies to start the week off with a
grin. Did you watch the Purina National
Dog Show on Thanksgiving? It was so
fun. BFTB was cheering for the
good-looking Bloodhound Nathan. It was
nice to see a hound take the title. Wait
a minute, I didn’t write that part. I
wanted the Westie to win!”
Bentley: “Sorry, my bad. Our teleprompter must be messing up
today. *wink-wink I think most
folks cheer for their particular breed.
I howled for the Basset Hound. I
was proud to see Nathan win. He is probably
a distance relative once or twice removed.
Maybe…possibly. *cough
If y’all did not catch our newsbreak last week, the village of
Moreauville is not enforcing the BSL that was to begin December 1st. According to the Repeal BSL Moreuville
Facebook page, a meeting will be held tonight to decide whether to repeal the
ban. We are happy to announce that
Pawtucket, Rhode Island lifted their ten-year ban on Pit Bulls. We will keep you updated on the outcome down
south.”
Pierre:
“I feel certain the people of Moreauville and the rest of the world
will be rooting for them to make the right decision. Here is a story about helping people and shelter
dogs that will restore some faith in humans.
A groundbreaking program, K9 Connection in Santa Monica, California has
worked with at-risk teens in training shelter dogs. It helps the dogs become easier to
adopt. Over the last ten years, this
non-profit group has seen a remarkable difference in the teenagers that join
the program.”
Bentley: “That’s right. Some of these kids have never experienced
love, empathy, pride, responsibility, or affection. If you think about it, that’s the same things
we see in shelter dogs. When paired
together, both the teen and the dog begin to bloom. It has opened feelings in the youth that is
making such a difference in their outlook.
We give K9 Connection a High Five Paw Slap! Do we have anything on the sports desk?”
Pierre:
“I am so glad you asked; this next story is definitely “Aww-inspiring.” Snicker
A team of extreme athletes
from Sweden was competing in a 430 mile Adventure Racing World Championship
through the Ecuadorian Amazon. Let me
clarify that this Amazon is nothing like the one where you are Cyber-Monday
shopping. This is the real McCoy. Anyway, these dudes were sitting down to eat
before starting a dangerous 20-mile trek through the rainforest. One of the men noticed a pitiful stray
staring at him. He tossed the dog a meatball
that it devoured. When they started to
continue their journey, the dog followed them and didn’t stop. The group of four men began calling the dog
Arthur. Their new four-legged friend
participated in every grueling feat. He
swam beside their kayak down rivers, climbed hills and trudged through knee-deep
muck. At one point, the team tried to
leave him behind because of the inherent dangers they were facing. Arthur refused to be left behind. He began swimming in a dangerous area and the
team pulled him into their boat. It was
obvious they had a new team member.
After finishing the race, they took Arthur to a local vet to be
checked. He had a few things that needed
attention after this extreme adventure.
We are happy to report the captain of is adopting Arthur. When we come back, Bentley will tell what we
can expect with the weather.”

"Woo Hoo! It's my birthday party!" |
Bentley: “Thanks for staying with
us. The weather forecast is another
mixed bag of tricks. Some much-needed
rain is expected for California. Our
northern friends will need to bundle up for their walks. Y’all are going to receive more snow and
plunging temperatures. Here along the
bayou, we are expecting rain today with colder weather moving our way. My personal prediction for Wednesday is for
sunshine, balloons, birthday cake, presents, and a super fabulous
giveaway. Did I mention my birthday is
December 3rd? Everyone is
invited to stop by for some fun.”
Pierre:
“We wanted to give a shout out to our friends at The Poodle and
Dog Blog for the story of Arthur. If you
have a story that you’d like to see on BFTB News, please let us know. There are also some vacancies that need to be
filled in Blogville. If you are
interested in getting involved, contact Mayors-elect Murphy & Stanley for
jobs in administration, Commissioner Sarge for the police recruits, and Susie
& Sidebite for the choir. Does that
about wrap it up for this week?”
Bentley: “I think we have covered
some of the most tail-wagging stories. This
is an exciting week with lots of laughs so be sure to visit each day. Thanks for tuning in to BFTB NETWoof
News. Be sure to grab yourself some
happy this week.”

Since GBGV's aren't allowed in the full AKC dog shows yet, and the Kuvasz never wins, we were thrilled about Nathan too! Not a bad looking fellow. You must be getting so excited for your big day! I know I can't wait! Wish I was there to bake for you, but my paws are firmly frozen in Minnesota right now. Have a pawsome week!

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Bentley's 7th birthday on Wednesday! I enjoyed the uplifting stories, we get enough doom & gloom on TV every night! Those teens should be very proud of themselves, it really does help shelter dogs to have lots of contact w/ people and basic obedience definitely makes them more attractive to adopters - paws up for them
