As
we begin a new year, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t have any things left
unsaid from 2014. Actually, I wanted to
make sure that I had said thank you to all of the blogs where we have won some
wonderful prizes. If you follow me on a
regular basis (and I hope that you do), you know I love to enter contests. What I usually do when a prize is delivered
is set it on the guest bed and leave it there until we take the appropriate photos. This is a great system…usually.
In
the case of a couple of these great items, they were not put on the “To be photo’d”
bed pile. That’s because they were put
aside for special purposes. I’ll explain
as I show you my treasures.
That
was the case in this “must-have” dog and cat book. I was ecstatic about winning “The Truth about Dog and Cat Treatments and Anomalies”
by Robert L. Ridgeway, DVM. My blogging friend, Caren from Dakota's Den and Cat Chat with Caren and Cody reviewed and held a giveaway for this
5 star book. When it arrived, I scanned
through it and realized I need to keep this book at my fingertips. I immediately put it with my books that I
keep for constant references with my work.
If you aren’t familiar with this handbook, let me tell you it can really
be a lifesaver. Dr. Ridgeway covers over
150 different pet medical subjects and includes dosage instructions, so you can
react with confidence. When we travel,
this book will be in Bentley’s dog bag.
You can read Caren’s review here.
Thanks so much Caren, Dakota, and Cody!
You
may have noticed this next prize among Bentley’s
birthday gifts. That is why it has taken me so long to
acknowledge it. When I entered to win
the bone white treat jar from Sweet Pea Kitchens, I thought it had such a pretty and clean look. When it arrived, it was even better! I immediately knew it was going to be one of Bentley’s
“fancier” birthday gifts. We currently use
Pierre’s treat jar, but it will be moving with him. That will leave a perfect place on the
kitchen counter for this beautiful jar.
I am a huge fan of Sweet Peas Kitchen and reviewed their delicious “Oh
My Apple Pie” dog treats. They also have
a fantastic assortment of treat jars
for your dog or cat.
One
of my new Twitter and blogging friend is Holly
from The Hair of the Dog (is on my Black Pants). If you haven’t discovered her
blog, check it out here. She is a super
sweet pet lover and it’d be great if you would visit her to welcome her to
BlogPaws and Blogville! She recently
held a Twitter contest and I won this precious Westie ink pen. It will be added to my daughter’s gift basket
for when we return Pierre. She will be
thrilled to have it. Thanks so much
Holly and continued success.
I
have followed some of my favorite blogs since being introduced to pet
blogging. Sand Spring Chesapeakes is one of those incredible sites that I
never miss. JoAnn lives with her husband and three of the most beautiful
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers ever. The have
the awards to back me up on that! ☺ I don’t know much
about hunting or field trials, but what I do know, I’ve learned from JoAnn. If you aren’t already a fan of her and the gang,
click here and you will become one! She
even has a cool cat named M.K. We were
lucky enough to win a handmade paracord
leash and matching collar from the glorious Glory’s birthday bash! I
chose purple and gold colors for our beloved LSU team. It fits perfect and I love it! Thanks so much to JoAnn and Glory.
Another
beautiful prize I received is from Asia
of Destiny’s Dog Blog. She had a contest and the prize was a
gorgeous handmade necklace. Asia gave me a chance to tell her a bit about
myself to help her choose the stones.
She also asked about my favorite colors and the proper length. When it arrived, I couldn’t have selected
anything more perfect for myself. You
know how sometimes you see a piece of jewelry and think that it looks like
you? That is how this necklace turned
out. It is one of my favorites and I
wear it every chance. Thank you Asia and
Destiny.
My
last thank you goes out to BlogPawsTwitter Chat as well as Castor and Pollux Natural PetWorks. I won the
top prize and it was a doozie! Bentley was
incredibly excited when the deliveryman came to our door with a huge box. Following me into the kitchen, he put paws on
the table and his nose went to work sniffing as I unpacked cans, and bags of
drool-worthy Organix food and
treats. I made the mistake of storing
everything in the laundry room with their other food when it first arrived. It was torture of both he and Pierre. They talked me out of one can before the
photo shoot and devoured it. Now, they
can enjoy the other cans and bags since we’ve taken the photos. Tomorrow’s lunch is going to cause major
excitement! We just have to figure out
which taste they want to try. We have
Carved Turkey Dinner w/ Fresh Carrots and Sweet Potatoes, Chicken Wing and Thigh
w/Fresh Harvest Sweet Potatoes, Tender Chicken Dinner w/White Potatoes &
Apples, and Shredded Chicken Dinner w/ Fresh Cut Potatoes. Tough choice, right? Guess what else? We have to choose between Jerky Chip Cookies
in Oatmeal & Salmon flavor or Oatmeal & Beef. As if that isn’t enough, we have a bag of
Chicken, Brown Rice and Flaxseed dry food!
Oh, decisions, decisions. Prizes
are just one of the fun things about Tuesday’s #BlogPawsChat. It is great way to make new friends and
discover awesome companies like Castor & Pullox!
I
once again say thank you to everyone for these incredible prizes. I will do better in 2015 with my
acknowledgement turnaround time if I am lucky!
I wish all of my readers a lucky 2015.
