Bentley: “Welcome to BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News for the first week of spring 2015. Those of you in the northeast can put your snow shovels down…while you reheat the coffee and read our news. Can you believe this wacky weather? Luckily, we have our Weather Lab Paisley on the trail of an accurate forecast. As always, my trusty co-anchor Pierre the Westie has our top story. Pierre, it seems a longstanding argument has finally come to an end, so to speak.”
Pierre: “Right you are, my
floppy-eared friend. After the patent
papers of S. Wheeler, the ‘father of toilet paper” was tweeted last week, it
seems we know the way Mr. Wheeler meant for the roll to hang. All of you that said “Over” were
correct. The toilet paper was meant to
go over. We can only hope this wipes the
controversy clean, flushes it down the drain, and doesn’t leave anyone too
chaffed. I still don’t see anything
wrong with a couple of rapid-fire back leg attempts to cover your business with
dirt, but that’s just me. Back to you,
Bent.”
Bentley: “Recent studies
show that your healthy skin regiment should include some dog. Here are the facts; loving a dog reduces anxiety,
helps you function socially, and brings down your stress levels. Lower stress levels mean lower cortisol levels,
which in turn makes your skin fresher and healthier. Is there no end to the benefits of having a
dog around?”
Pierre: “We do seem to make
the world a brighter place. You’d think
that humans would appreciate that trait and try to be worthy of our trust.”
Bentley: “Are you having
trust issues, Pierre?”
Pierre: “Always, but that’s
beside the point. I’m referring to
another study that claims dogs learn whether a human is trustworthy. For example, a human pretends to throw a ball
for their dog to fetch, when they have not actually thrown the ball at all. It’s not funny to make your dog look foolish.
The same thing goes for pretending to
offer a treat. I don’t trust anyone who
would tease their best friend.”
Paisley: “I’m not teasing
when I say that we will be right back after this commercial break.”

Paisley: “Hey, I did my
first segue. Now back to tricking and
trusting your dog.”
Bentley: “That was perfect
and Pierre is right, it’s not nice to trick your dog. However, I still crack up when Mom pretends
that she is dying to see if I’ll go all “Lassie” on her! Bahaha!
It’s a good thing that she didn’t pursue acting. We’d be in a world of hurt.”
Pierre: “Speaking of hurt;
I understand that you are in some pain.
Do you want to talk about it?”
Bentley: “I don’t want
anyone worrying about me, but if you insist.
I have been battling a recurring ear infection for quite some time. We treat it and keep my ears clean. It clears up and in a few weeks or months
then, it’s back with a vengeance. When I
went to see my vet last week, she recommended that I have a myringotomy procedure. That means they are going to put me under anesthesia
and make an incision in my eardrum. Once
inside my inner ear, they can clean out the infection that has been hiding deep
inside where the medicine can’t work. It
is pretty routine and should relieve my ear problems. While I’m there, Dr. Foret is going to clean
my pearly whites. It’s important that I
have nice teeth for my close-ups.”
Pierre: “You’re going to
come home the same day, right? I’d miss
your snoring smiling face.”
Bentley: “Sure, I’ll be home
in time for supper. Just keep me in y’alls
thoughts. Where’s our Weather Lab? Paisley, it’s time!”
Paisley: “Hiya guys! Spring sprang and brought snow to our friends
in New York and that area of the country.
It just brought lots of rain to us, but we should dry out for a couple
of days. Let’s take a look at the big
picture. It’s just a soggy forecast for
almost the entire country. On a brighter
note, all of this water is going to make some lovely flowers bloom. Seriously, there will be snowstorms in the
northern plains and upper Midwest. Rain
will make its way from the northwest corner across the rest of the country
throughout the week. Sorry that I can’t
give y’all bright skies and sunshine, but it’s coming, I promise.”
Bentley: “That’s a fine job
Paisley. My, you are growing like a
weed. You must be fed and watered
regularly too! Hee hee hee! That’s it for BFTB NETWoof News for this
week. Thanks for tuning in and be sure
to tell your friends about us. Have an
amazing week and don’t forget to grab yourself some happy!”

We are thrilled as we got about 10 inches of snow overnight. Sadly, it will melt soon, but we are going to have fun while it lasts. Cat bro Bert is relieved about the toilet paper thing. He enjoys unrolling it in the half bath when Mom is late with his meals. Have a fun week my love, Bentley!

ReplyDeleteHoly Dogs another great report. I don't know where else I would get my news from if you didn't do this. Thank you for keeping me informed
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
I busted out loud laughing when I saw paisley pic hanging out on the side of the news booth. I can't tell you anything about that ear procedure, I actually never heard of it. I hope all goes well and am sure Bentley is in the best hands. We will culture ears to see what bacteria is causing the problem and do a drug sensitivity on it to make sure we are using the correct medication. Sometimes we have to treat orally with a antifungle for yeast infections and with antibiotics. I'll be thinking of him and sending good thought for a speedy recovery and no more infections.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool that they're making a video with rescue pets!
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope that all goes well with Bentley's procedure! It's always nerve wracking for the Moms even when it is just something routine, but we're sure all will go well (I don't think you said when he's actually going in for this but we'll watch for news).
ReplyDeleteLots of wags and woofs from the crew at Wag n Woof Pets
