BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News

Bentley: “Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of BFTB NETWoof News.  We’re your news hounds digging up stories that you need to nose know.  I’m joined today, as I am each week by my co-anchor Pierre the Westie and our Weather Lab Paisley.  Let’s get hopping with our top story.”

Pierre: “It's funny that you should mention hopping because our top story is about some scary toads in Florida.  The Giant Toad or Cane Toad has become a threat to dogs and cats.  They are not indigenous to the state, but man introduced them in hopes of controlling white larvae on sugar cane plants.  It was an epic failure.  These giant creatures are eating the native frogs and toads.  Gramma is constantly warning me not to mess with the frogs in our yard.  It may be time to pay attention.  When the Cane Toad is threatened, it secretes a toxic milky substance from the back of its head.  If a dog or cat ingests that nasty stuff, they can become very sick.  It can cause convulsions and even death!  No sirree, I am not going to mess with any more frogs or toads.  *shudder  Join me and be toad free!”
Bentley: “I used to love to bounce around with frogs until I accidentally got a taste.  Those things are just nasty, but I have heard that some of their legs are tasty when batter-fried.  I hate to be a downer, but our next story is about another creepy critter invading Florida.  The Nile Monitor Lizard has been spotted in some suburban areas.  Unfortunately, a human will buy an exotic pet and keep it until its gets too large or begin to act like an exotic animal.  Then, they drop it off in the Everglades or some other area where they feel the animal will be able to survive.  We believe that exotic animals are best viewed in their natural habitat or on a National Geographic show.”
Pierre: “This next report will have you smiling.  A family rescued Penguin, the Australian Magpie when it was a tiny bird. They fed her through with a syringe.  The bird became a smart, loving friend.  When it was time for her to fly the nest, she did.  That hasn’t stopped her from returning to visit and spend time with the humans who raised her.  You will want to see the pictures of this bird and her boy by clicking here.”
Bentley: “We want to congratulate Brittany G., the winner of our PURGGO
Congratulations Brittany!
Car Air Eco-Purifier
.  Rafflecopter randomly selected Brittany to receive the incredible air purifier to help eliminate odors from her dogs.  She was very excited when contacted yesterday.  Read our review here.”
Pierre: “We appreciate everyone for entering.  We have another great giveaway starting next week, so be sure to check back with us.  Let’s track down some sports for the week.  Have you seen our friend Earl from Earl’s World?  He is a five-year-old Border Terrier and an amazing Grade 5 Agility Dog!  You can only reach Grade 7, so he is well on his way.  Last weekend, Earl rocked the Easter Dog Vegas Show.  He came home with three 3rds, and a 4th on Saturday, and then on Sunday he scored a couple more 3rds, and 2nd place ribbon.  There was even a cash prize in the Money Agility class, so he is requesting more treats!  How cool is that?  He and his little sister Ethel live across the ocean in the U.K.  Ethel is busy following in Earl’s paw prints too.”

Bentley: “We are super proud of his accomplishments and hope y'all follow the adventures in Earl’s World.  Now, where is Paisley?  I hear she had her own sporting adventure this weekend.”
Paisley: “Hiya boys!  I did have a huge adventure on Saturday.  My mom and dad took me out in our boat on the Red River.  The waterway has been closed due to high water, but we were finally able to go for a ride.  It was the most exciting outing so far in my life!  The smell of the river was a beautiful thing.  I’m pretty sure that I will be a champion fishing dog.  I refuse to bait my own hook though.  Yuck!  Anyway, it’s a good thing that we went when we did.  It is raining again and isn’t going to stop very soon.  We are expecting rain along with the southern and eastern part of the United States for most of the week.  Those of you living in the west have a better chance to see some sunshine and higher temperatures.  I promise that one Monday in the near future, it will be blue skies all over, but until then try to stay dry and enjoy your week.

Pierre: “It looks like you are quite the sailor!  Maybe I’ll join you on board one day.  I’d look handsome in a yachting jacket, don’t you think?”
Bentley: “Ummm, that’s all of the time we have for today.  Be sure to visit us this week for more fun, reviews, and a very special Friday celebration.  Be sure to share us with your friends and follow us on Facebook.  Have a great week and grab yourself some happy!”
