The most beautiful packaging I've ever seen! |
I want to introduce you to a company that was started with a story, not a strategy. Tim Petersen of Greeley, Colorado had worked as a pet food distributor for years. Knowing the business allowed him to search for the perfect brand for his pets. It didn’t take long before he became disappointed in the choices. He finally gave up and decided to make his own all natural food. Wild Calling!® is a new family-owned, family-run company. Tim works with his two sons, Jeremy and Trevar to bring our dogs and cats the type of foods that animals would hunt in the wild. That means a grain-free diet rich in meat and high-quality protein. The formula was years in the making and it was certainly worth the wait. The merging of dietary science with the beauty of nature and a genuine love for our pets is an artistic idea they call, “The Art of Nutrition.”

"If I only had thumbs." |
Wild Calling! was founded on the same principals as the Wild West. Be real. Be honest. Be true. I love that motto and a look through their digital product brochure proves those aren’t just words. They even tell you how much each type of food costs per day to feed your dog. I have recently been doing a lot of research on different dog foods and the ingredients in Wild Calling! are incredible. We tried the Triple Delight canned food, which is 96% lamb, salmon, and chicken. It definitely brought out the wild in Bentley and Pierre. The moment I opened the can there was a lot of drooling and whining as I proportioned out the meals. Their reaction is the same of dogs and cats across America. The huge success of their canned recipes led to a delicious dry kibble.

The boys went WILD! |
We were lucky to try the Wild Calling! Elk, Whitefish Meal, and Turkey Meal recipe. The first five ingredients are elk, whitefish meal, turkey meal, sweet potato, and lentils. This is the only kibble that I have ever been able to pass off as a treat. The boys absolutely loved the taste of this food. Wild Calling! is meant to be a rotational diet. In the wild, animals don’t eat the same thing day in and day out. They might fish one morning, and track down a rabbit for dinner. The choices Wild Calling! offers will keep your dog happy and healthy from the puppy days to the senior years. Their Glyco Edge provides dogs with consistent energy and low glycemic diet. Using tapioca (quick release) with sweet potatoes (moderate release) and lentils (slow release), the food helps limit glucose and insulin spikes. It also results in firmer stools.

Perfect size for training or a quick treat. |
Living in the suburbs, most of Bentley and Pierre’s hunting consists of chasing squirrels and lizards. That doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy the wild life, some of those squirrels are big! It is important that I am providing them with food that gives them enough calories to have a healthy body weight and enough protein to keep their bodies built up and repair any damage. With Wild Calling! I feel that I am providing a high-quality food that is made in the U.S.A. by people I can trust. *You can read our first review here.
