BFTB Channel 7 NETWoof News 5/11/2015

Bentley: “Welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News.  We were pre-empted last week by a very important post about Vet on Demand.  It was nice to know so many of you missed our report.  To help me sniff out the best stories, I have my co-anchor, Pierre.  Our Weather Lab Paisley will share the most accurate forecast a six-month-old pup can report.  Let’s get right to our top story.  Pierre?”
Pierre: “This story is about a dog who tried to bite the bullet so to speak.  A couple in Arkansas knew their 4-year old Belgian Malinois liked to eat strange things.  Benno has swallowed socks, magnets, and marbles in the past.  His owner was still shocked when his dog threw up four .308 caliber rifle ammunition.  Apparently, the owner left the bag of bullets on his nightstand and Benno decided they would be a tasty treat.  The local vet removed 17 more from the poor dog’s belly and allowed him to pass two on his own.  There are so many jokes here, but I’m trying to keep it classy.”
Bentley: “Son of a gun!  That Benno sure is a pistol!  Sorry, but sometimes classy is overrated.  *snicker* This next story is one that will make you say ‘Aww!’  There is a Teacup Poodle in Minnesota that goes to work each day with her human at a senior care center.  Nala has never had formal therapy dog training.  She was given to her person after failing at a previous long-term care facility.  She is in her element at this new job where she is seen riding the elevator until it stops at the floor she wants to visit for the day.  The residents love her and she seems to know instinctively who needs a Poodle Pal in their lap.  Way to be awesome Nala.”

Pierre: “If you are on Instagram, our friends at BlogPaws are having an Instagram photo contest this month.  The theme for the May entries is Pet Travel.  We entered one of us in our kennel in the back of the Bayou Mobile.  Y’all should still totally enter, even if I do look adorable in our entry. You can get all of the information by visiting here.  Be sure to tag us so we can see how awesome you look in your photo.  Keep checking back with BFTB for the latest and greatest BlogPaws Conference News.”
Bentley: “Let’s take a look at this week’s sports news. The Blogville Barkers soccer team has begun practices.  They are being coached by the famous soccer legend, Easy.  Early reports are they are going for the championship.  I know it won’t be easy to concentrate with those cute cheerleaders on the sidelines.”

Pierre: “Speaking of Blogville, the town is having a big Recruit-A-Pal campaign.  Some of you have asked me whether Blogville is a real place.  Sarge Speaks does a fantastic job of explaining both fun and serious sides of our little community.  We would love to have our blogging buds join us.  Click on Sarge's name to learn more.  Be sure to tell them the Bayou Boys sent you.”
Paisley: “Hiya Boys!  Is it time for the weather?  I have so much to tell everyone.  Did y’all see the tornados?  What’s wrong?  Why are you both staring?”
Pierre: “Is that a new pink leather high back office chair?  Where did you get that?  All we have are these anchor stools.  Bentley?”
Bentley: “What the…we are going to have a little talk with the management.  First we get pre-empted and now this?!  I’m going to re-check my contract.”  *wink-wink
Paisley: “Y’all are so silly.  I saw the note you left me before I sat down.  Thanks, you guys are the bestest.  I’d give y’all a big kiss, but we have some severe weather to report.  Our neighbors in the Lone Star state are having a rough time with flooding rains and tornados.  That same band of storms has spurred similar twisters in Oklahoma.  We have buddies in both of those states and I’m telling them to hunker down and take precautions if necessary.  Unfortunately, the bad weather is going to hang around for a couple of days.  The rain will travel along the gulf coast states the first half of the week.”
Pierre: “I heard something about winter staging a comeback.  Is that even possible?  Our A/C has been running all day!”
Paisley: “Yes sir, it is possible.  The city of Denver and as far north as Rapid City is getting snow dumped on them today.  Winter just doesn’t seem to want to let it go!  I‘m hoping everyone will get a glimpse of the sunshine later on in the week.  Back to you, Bentley.”
Bentley: “Thanks, Paisley and we’re glad that you like your big girl chair.  We appreciate all of you for joining us today.  For Pierre, Paisley, and myself; have a terrific week and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”
