Bentley: “Happy Memorial Day and welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. I'm Bentley, your news hound. Along with my co-anchor Pierre and our Weather Lab Paisley, we bring you all of the latest news a dog lover needs to know.”
Pierre: “I hope that
everyone is enjoying their holiday here in the states! The BFTB news team not only wants to say a
big thank you to all of our men and women who serve in the armed forces, but
also the Military War Dogs. Braver souls
you’ll never meet. Am I right, Bentley?”
Bentley: “As you know, I am
not even a fan of thunder. I can’t
imagine serving in a war zone! We wrote about the Military Dogs here, so you can read it too. Remember
while you are barbecuing or spending the day at the lake, our troops are on the
ground defending your right to celebrate today.
We salute them all.”
Pierre: “We do have a
couple of fun stories to start your week off with a smile. Maybe I should have said a giggle. This report is about the mayoral election in
Flint, Michigan. There was obviously a
snafu in the ballots and resulted in all candidates being “write-ins.” That is when a pig named Giggles decided to
campaign for the position. Actually,
Giggles’ human thought it would be a great way to focus awareness of the blank
ballot.”
Bentley: “Well, if the book Animal
Farm taught us anything it is that pigs do not make good political
leaders. Besides, there are enough hams
in the political arena! Changing
directions, researchers have DNA evidence they believe shows that dogs have
been man’s best friend a lot longer than originally believed. Scientists have always felt the split from
our wild ancestors happened about 11,000 to 16,000 years ago. A recent discovery of a wolf/dog jawbone is
estimated to be from 30,000 years ago.
That is like a gazillion dog years.”
Pierre: “Wow! That is before the end of the last Ice
Age! They need to add a dog in that Ice
Age cartoon! I think that the character
should be an adorable fluffy Westie.
Before you ask, yes I am available!”
Bentley: “We don’t have anything exciting to report on the sports segment this week. The humans had the Indy 500 yesterday, but they still do not allow dogs to race. I’m thinking of sending in my Conference Cruising photo for consideration next year. We ended up loading 45 dogs, 7 cats, 2 rats, and 1 guinea pig in my customized Corvette. That should at least get me in next year’s pace car!”
Paisley: “Is it time for the
weather now? I have mapped out the weather
for y’all in Nashville during the BlogPaws conference! I know that everyone is so excited. I heard you say that it was sold-out. That is so cool. The Nashville area is just like the rest of
the country and stuck in a rain pattern. I’m sorry to tell y’all this, but
there are chances of thunderstorms each day.
It’s a good thing the hotel is awesome so you can stay inside where it
is nice and dry! Pssst Bentley, you
might want to pack your Smart Pet Love 4 in 1 Harness with the heartbeat just
in case.”
Pierre: “What is with all of this rain? It is so difficult to keep my feet nice and white when I constantly walk in rain. Seriously, the Red River is overflowing its banks! How is the rest of the country faring?”
Paisley: “The west coast
will have some sunshine peek out this week and so will our friends on the east
coast. It is the heart of America that
will continue to battle rains and the threat of flash floods. Y’all be real super duper careful out there
this week!”
Bentley: “Thanks
Sweetie. You can even make thunderstorms
sound cute! We hope that everyone has a
fabulous week. Pierre, Mom, and I will
be at the BlogPaws conference this week.
If you are attending, please say hello and let’s take a selfie
together. Y’all have a fantastic week
and be sure to grab yourself some happy!”
I would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to
my Mom! I love you and hope that you have a fantastic day! ♥
the story of Giggles makes me giggle :o) have a good Memorial Day :o)
