BFTB NETWoof News August 24 2015

Bentley: “Hello and welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. I am Bentley, your trusted newshound and joining me at the anchor desk are Pierre Westie and our Weather Lab, Paisley. We have some exciting news to share and it is this week’s Top Story. We are officially Dr. Harvey’s Brand Ambassadors! Can you believe it, Pierre?”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story

Pierre: “I can’t believe that you spilled the Top Story. I have been waiting to tell everyone that we will be sharing our love for Dr. Harvey’s like we always have, but now we can offer our friends a 10% discount on all of their awesome products. Of course, Dr. Harvey’s will be sponsoring super giveaways with us. You won’t want to miss our first one next week! I wonder if this Ambassadorship entitles us to diplomatic immunity. Maybe we can get Dr. Harvey flags for the front of our car like the Diplomats in New York and D.C. That’d be cool.”
Bentley: “Yeah, I’m thinking that isn’t part of the plan. The flags would be cool, though. Our readers can be on the lookout for a new clickable link on the sidebar. We love the Dr. Harvey’s family and could not be prouder of our new title. We are happy to be joining Dog & His Boy in today’s announcement. Our next story is about a dog and it’s human too. This happened on the Greek Island of Corfu when a man was out walking his dog in the woods. The dog put its ear to the ground and refused to move. The owner became concerned and phoned the police. What the dog had heard was activity in an underground tunnel that led to the local prison. Law enforcement officers were able to foil the escape thanks to the sharp hearing of a dog. The tunnel contained battery-powered fans and plastic boxes of food.”
Pierre: “The dog definitely saved the day! Speaking of saving, a stray dog is credited with scaring off two men as they grabbed a young woman from England after she refused to have a drink with them on a beach in Crete, Greece. The dog followed the girl back to where she was staying. When the time came for the vacation to end, the dog chased after the car. Two weeks later, the women flew 6,000 miles back to adopt the dog. “Pepper” is now a loving member of her family and a new mom of six puppies!”
News story about Panda having twins
Bentley: “They definitely rescued each other. There is pandemonium over the birth of twin Panda cubs born Saturday night to Mei Xiang. Mom and cubs are being closely monitored by specialists at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington. We send our best wishes to the new family.”
Pierre: “Family is important and nobody knows it better than Zeus. His family is in the military and was transferred from N. Carolina to South Korea. They trusted a family friend to keep their beloved dog until they could return. Sadly, this friend called them to say Zeus had passed away. You can imagine their surprise when they received a call from the N. C. Humane Society saying their ‘dead’ dog was with them. He had been found hungry and wandering the streets. He has since been driven 3,000 miles to rejoin his excited family.”
Bentley: “Microchips save lives. I just can’t stress that enough. It’s a shame that we don’t have any sporting news this week.”
BFTB NETWoof Sports " Mole Season"
Pierre: “Ahem…cough, cough…AHEM!”
Bentley: “I’m sorry, Pierre is there a sports story that I am overlooking?”
Pierre: “Well, now that you mention it there is one bit of sports action that happened here on the bayou. I don’t know how many of you are aware that it is mole season. You know that little critters that will rip up your nicely manicured lawn in one twenty-four hour period? It happens each year and I dig feverishly to catch them. Let me just say that I tagged two of those destructive vermin this week. I am seriously considering a reality sporting show on cable.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather
Paisley: “Hey y’all! How are my favorite news anchors? I have been waiting for a long time to share the weather. We are still seeing 70 major wildfires in the west with the majority of them in Washington State. There is a chance of late showers that might help. It is a bad situation and we all hope some rain will douse some of the flames. It will continue to be nice and hot down the west coast while the center of our country will be warm. Scattered storms will be on tap from Texas all along the coast and into Florida. The east coast will go from muggy and warm in Georgia and the Carolinas to warm and mild in the New England area. It won’t be much longer before we catch a whiff of football season. That means the cooler weather isn’t too far off and the perfect weather for tailgating is on the horizon.”
Bentley: “Excellent report, Paisley. We’d like to thanks everyone for dropping by today and a special thanks to Dr. Harvey’s! Don’t miss your chance to win our Sooty Paw Paw Dog poop bags with its patented one-tear dispenser. You can click on the Contests Tab. Join us all week for the fun as we share an opportunity for you to win some ice cream tomorrow, celebrate National Dog Day on Wednesday, and honor our friends with the Rainbow Bridge Remembrance on Friday. I’d appreciate you sharing our tweet below since our Twitter buttons are out of commission. Have a fantastic Monday and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”
