Bentley: “Good day and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for the last day of August. I am joined here at the desk by my co-anchor Pierre and Paisley the Weather Lab. We have some fun news to start your week. Pierre, what’s our top story?”
Pierre: “You might notice that we are showing our entire studio. There is a reason for that. We don’t often like to toot our own horns but, toot, toot! We are celebrating our first year as the best only dog news that's actually on the bayou. We would also like to thank our readers for reaching 500,000 page views last week! Y’all are the best. Has David Muir called us for a segment yet?”
Bentley: “I’m still waiting; he is our idol so we have to hope. In the meantime, I love anchoring this broadcast and I’m happy that our friends enjoy fetching the news with us. Speaking of friends, our Blogville gang held the first Demolition Derby last Saturday. It was an exciting event and we are happy to announce Easy the Weimaraner was the Derby winner. The Derby King Ziggy and Queen Whitley the Westie reigned over the event which was hosted by Oreo. What an exciting day! I wish we could have sent a drone over for some aerial shots.”
Pierre: “Do you know why we don’t use a drone in our newscasts?
Bentley: “We don’t have that kind of news budget?”
Pierre: “Okay, aside from that…scientists are discovering that drones raise the heartbeat of some black bears in Minnesota. One particular bear’s heart rate went from 39 beats to 162 beats. That is a 400% increase. The animals did not show fear or run but were definitely hyper aware of the flying intrusion.”
Bentley: “I think we should hold-out for a sweet news chopper. I’d look cool flying it wearing a microphone on my helmet and a leather bomber jacket. Until then, let me share this sweet story of two unlikely friends. A man with a pig named Emma noticed that she was depressed after her twelve piglets grew up and moved to different farms. That is why he introduced her to a rooster named Greasy. The two are now great friends and Emma lets Greasy sleep in her pen so she is protected from coyotes.”
Pierre: “You could say they go together like ham and eggs…on second thought, maybe not. Let’s move on to the sports before I’m toast! In addition to the Demolition Derby, our friends at Sand Spring Chesapeakes had an exciting weekend. New mom, Glory took a day away from the puppies to pass both her land and water series for her AKC Senior Hunter title. We could not be prouder or happier for her. If you have not seen her puppies, you really should take a peek. They are incredibly cute.”
Bentley: “They are a good-looking crew for sure. Another friend Johann, the Agility Dog also brought home the blue ribbon in Performance Speed Jumping at the USDAA Agility Trial in Gainesville, GA. We really know some awesome dog athletes. Maybe we should get into some type of sport. Is alligator wrestling legit?”
Pierre: “We are not going to wrestle gators. Have you seen the size of their teeth? How about synchronized swimming?”
Paisley: “You boys could get a blue ribbon for synchronized snoring! Bahaha! Is it time for the weather?”
Bentley: “You cut me to the quick, child…especially since you are right. How is weather forecast looking?”
Paisley: “The northwest will get some relief with cooler temperatures accompanied by some rain. California will remain hot as will much of the middle of our country. The south will get some scattered storms. I’m happy to report that Florida escaped the worst of Erika, but will still experience storms and possible flash flooding. That threat continues up into Georgia and the Carolinas. Y’all keep an eye out for deep water and remember, don’t drown; turn around. The northeast will see sunny days for the week ahead. Back to you, Bentley.”
Bentley: “Another great report, Paisley. We hope that you continue to enjoy our news reports. If you have any news that you’d like us to report, let us know. Thank you so much for the support that you have given us. Join us the rest of the week for some new products, another fab giveaway, and more laughs. Stay safe and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

ReplyDeleteDo you have any stats on drones raising the heart rates of dogs in Minnesota? Since I live there, it makes me wonder, but then again I don't think I have even seen a drone. I better not hang out with black bears I guess! Huge apaws for your 1 year of news and all those page views! You go news team Bayou!
ReplyDeleteAll excellent news pals! I was happy to hear about Glory's title over the weekend. How fantastic. And I was super happy Tropical Storm Erika broke apart so we didn't have to go through all our hurricane preparations like putting up shutters, etc. We barely got any rain from what is left of her and we sure could use it. Oh well.
