BFTB NETWoof News September 28 2015

Bentley: “Welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. Can you believe that we are already in the last week of September? I’m joined as always by my co-anchor Pierre and our Weather Lab Paisley. We’ve fetched some great dog news stories for you. Let’s get right to it.”

Pierre: “You got it, Bentley. Our top story this week is one of our more bizarre ones. It seems that when part of the pavement in front of an apartment collapsed in a Russian town, a pregnant dog sought refuge inside the hole. When the repairs were made, the workers did not rescue the dog. The couple that lived in the apartment returned two days after the hole had been sealed with bricks and mortar. They kept hearing barking from beneath the area. When the local housing authorities refused to help, the man took it upon himself to remove the bricks. He was able to rescue the dog and she is now recouping at a local shelter.”
Bentley: “Hooray for the good citizen, but it is unbelievable that someone could knowingly entomb a dog. Sadly, she lost her pups. I’m just happy to know that the dog is alive and available for adoption. Our next story proves that there is still a lot of good in people. An 80-year-old man in Fort Worth has found a terrific way to help the dogs that people dump on his farm. Instead of training the strays, Eugene Bostick has built a train for them! That’s right. Once a week he loads the dogs into his train and drives them around his neighborhood and through the woods. The dogs love riding and the locals have begun to turn out to cheer the choo-choo on its way.”

Pierre: “That is so cool. I’d love to take a ride on the K-9 Express! Our last story is about a daring rescue that took place in Wolfe county Kentucky. Reports of hikers hearing a dog barking kept coming in to the Search and Rescue team. What the team discovered was a hound dog stranded where two cliffs come together. The rescuers had to be lowered down about 15’ to a dirt path that was at about a 75° angle. When they reached the dog, he came right to them looking for the food they had in their pockets. They lifted the dog to safety after about two hours in the pouring rain. It didn’t have a collar so one of the rescuers is keeping him safe. Hopefully, they will be able to locate the owners. We offer a big salute to all of the rescue workers for a job well done.”
Bentley: “Well, that was certainly a cliff-hanger! Hey, Paisley!”
Dog news set with the weather forecast map
Paisley: Hiya guys! Is it time for the weather report? I think that y’all are going to be happy about the forecast. Well, unless you had outdoor plans for the first part of the week. Here in the bayou we are finally going to get some rain. I know the grass and flowers will be excited! As a matter of fact, most of the eastern United States will see some rain this week. Those of you in the middle of the country can expect sunny conditions to continue so enjoy the great weather while it lasts. It will be pleasant in the northwest while the west coast can expect sunny skies. Our overall temperatures won’t seem much like fall, but the cooler temperatures will be here soon.”
Bentley: “Thank you for the great outlook, Paisley. You are always a ray of sunshine in our newscast. We hope all of our readers enjoy a great week. Be sure to visit us each day as we share some laughs along with some great products and stories. You won’t want to miss our Sadie Hawkins dance pictures on Thursday! In the meantime, stay safe and grab yourself some happy.”
