Bentley: “Greetings friends! It is time for this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. Joining me at the news desk is my co-anchor Pierre Westie and Paisley, our Weather Lab. This has been quite a news week for the humans in our country. Unfortunately, most of it has been sad. That is why we pride ourselves in providing some happier news for your week. What is our top story, Pierre?”
Pierre: “Today’s top story is one that should have our friends in Florida breathing a sigh of relief. A few weeks ago, there was a report about an eight-foot king cobra named Elvis escaping from a home that is used as an exotic animal rescue. It had the neighborhood school canceling recess and the area residents on guard. The snake was discovered last week when a woman heard a hissing noise from her dryer. She called animal control that came to her home and caught Elvis. I’m not sure about the snake, but the woman was definitely all shook up!”
Bentley: “I know that she was happy when Elvis left the building. As many of you know, October is Adopt a Shelter Pet month. These next two stories are about successful adoptions. If you were surfing the internet this week, chances are you saw the Pit Bull that makes his own bed. It was very sweet even if it did put an unwanted amount of pressure on those of us that never tidy up our beds. Sorry, I digress. Anyway, the pup’s name is Rush and someone rushed to adopt him. He is now making a bed in his very own forever home. We send our congratulations to him and his family. Just in case you missed the video, you can visit the link below. Warning: Extreme Cuteness.”
Pierre: Another story that started out sad, but turned into a happily ever after is about a puppy that was seen being thrown from a car! Now please don’t ask me to explain why any human would be so cruel and heartless. I have no idea. Luckily, a nice lady and her children were following behind the villain and witnessed the entire thing. They stopped and rescued the little dog. They put the sweet little girl pup in their car and drove home, then turned to social media. It didn’t take long before another family fell in love and gave the sweetie a loving home. Hopefully, she won’t remember the inhumane way she came to be their best friend.
Bentley: “All that BFTB news can say is that Karma never forgets and that bad man should be expecting a visit. This last story is one of incredible need. The devastating floods in South Carolina have left many pets and shelters hurting. Our friend, Milk Paws lives in the area and has shared the desperate call for help at those facilities. If you would like more information on how you can assist or the resources available, please visit Milk by clicking here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected.”
Pierre: “I hope they are going to have some clear skies to begin their massive clean-up effort. How about it, Paisley?”
Paisley: “Hiya boys! It looks like South Carolina will have to deal with a few more showers as will most of the east coast. Our readers out west are still having summer-like temperatures. Many cities are matching or beating their record highs for this time of the year. Statistics show that much of that area will see temps 10 to 20° above average. Here on the bayou, it is still really hot. Believe it or not, New England has a chance of winter precipitation next weekend. I just hope that it cools down before Halloween. It will really put a crimp in dressing up when it is that hot! Should I remind everyone about our Halloween Hop Spooktacular?”
Pierre: “I think that you just did! They can grab the Halloween Hop badge from our sidebar if they’d like to add it to their blog so they don’t forget.”
Paisley: “Okie Dokie! That is about it for this week’s weather report. I’m wishing all of our readers a little sunshine in each of their days.”
Bentley: “Thanks, Paisley. That will do it for this week’s report. Be sure to join us throughout the week for more fun. Remember, if you have a story that you’d like to see featured, drop us an email at thereturns7@gmail.com. Until next time, take care and be sure to grab some happy for yourself.”
