Bentley: “This is BFTB NETWoof News for January 11, 2016. We have sniffed out the dog reports that you need to know along with the week’s forecast with Paisley, our faithful Weather Lab. My co-anchor Pierre Westie has our top story.”

Pierre: “Breaking news! A man from North Dakota was arrested in Washington, D.C. after allegedly planning to kidnap the First Dog, Bo. He is the O'Bama's Portuguese Water dog. The guy was arrested and charged with illegally carrying a rifle/shotgun outside of a home or business. The Secret Service discovered a 12-gauge shotgun, a black bolt action rifle and over 300 rounds of ammunition. Although he was positively identified by another name, he claimed to be Jesus and the son of John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. Court records show that he was fitted for an ankle bracelet and released from custody on Friday. That sounds like a good idea, he certainly doesn't sound delusional or anything."
Bentley: “It is a good thing that someone alerted the officials of the plan. I’m sure that Bo will have a beefed-up security team now. Speaking of alerting officials, a dog in Massachusetts approached a policeman last week. It was barking frantically so the officer decided to follow him. The dog led the officer across a field and down a 30-foot icy embankment. Sure enough, he saw another dog entangled in the heavy undergrowth. Local firefighters used a ladder the free the dog. The two dogs lived together and had run off earlier in the day when their owner was taken to the hospital after a medical emergency. Isn’t that incredible? They were probably heading to the hospital to check on their human.”
Pierre: “Yes, they sound like your typical ambulance chasers. Let me just say before we share this next report, that it is in no way meant to be offensive to any of our awesome friends. Remember, we don't make the news, we only report it. With that, I’d like to present the Top 10 Most Destructive Breeds and the 10 Least Destructive. If I could draw your attention to number 2 on the least list, I believe that you’ll see yours truly. It’s obvious that they did not take into consideration the death of many, many stuffies.”
Bentley: “Again, the Basset Hound has been overlooked. I need a better press agent. At least, we have been members of the A.K.C for many years. The American Kennel Club just accepted two new breeds so they will now be eligible for dog shows. Are you familiar with the American Hairless Terrier or the Sloughi? I’m sure that you will be seeing them in an A.K.C. sanctioned show very soon. Now, let’s turn to our chief Weather Lab, Paisley.”
Paisley: “Thank you. If there was any question about winter’s arrival, you will definitely have the answer this week. The center of the U.S. will be sunny and cool. The west coast will continue to see plenty of EL Nino showers. In California the rains have been too much of a good thing causing mudslides or flash flooding, so stay alert out there. Our northern states are going to see frigid temperatures with the northeast receiving weather precipitation including snow. Here in the south, we are forecasting some showers from Louisiana to Florida. Whatever the weather is in your part of the world, dress accordingly and get outside to enjoy your days. Back to you, Bentley.”

Another great report!!
ReplyDeleteLeast destructive? Uh, my momma's shoes (multiple pairs) and da carpet in our apartment in LA beg to differ. And dats not even countin da rodent kills. And stuffies. I think dat list are CRAZY!
ReplyDeleteWow! The story about the dog getting help from the police is incredible! How cool.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I disagree with that list about most destructive and least destructive. Obviously they've never met any real JRTs. LOL
I love the story about the dog getting help for his friend. Dogs are so smart and loyal. Also, glad Bo is safe and hope the doggie secret service will take good care of him.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the son of JFK and Marilyn is under control... it's scary what crazy peeps we have on our slice earth. I'm not on that list... probably because weimaraners are no dogs, right?
ReplyDeletegreat report today guys.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad, Bentley, the GBGV isn't even a fully accepted breed in the US, let alone failing to make all the lists. I prefer to be a more rare breed. It keeps us from being over bred and wanted by everyone only to be returned to shelters because although we are cute, we are not the easiest to live with. Great news and you're right about the cold. Another walk at -15 this morning coming up shortly. Fast and short is the key to survival. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteGreat reporting, pals! I think you have gathered quite the news stories this week! The weather is just getting crazier it seems. I hope those that need to, stay warm!
ReplyDeleteOMD we were worried about BO's Safety... and glad that the plot was foiled.... they probably FOILED it by using the Aluminum Foil that the guy keeps on his head... to block the Space Aliens from stealing what FEW brain waves he might have.
ReplyDeleteOMD the story about the two dogs... one Getting help for his tangled up furend... that brought TEARS to our Eyes!! Just Beautiful..
Now about the destructiveness of DACHSHUNDS... NEITHER of US have EVER destroyed ANY of the PEEP's Thingys.... butt Boy Howdy... have we ever gone through the Shredding and Deading of about 87 Bazillion Stuffies and Balls... Of COURSE... Shredding and Deading is NOT destructive... that is GOOD WORK...
We know that you all would NEVER be destructive.
OH how we LOVE MONDAY and receiving our copy of the BFTB News... hot off the presses...
Good thing you stay on top of things! I hadn't heard about Bo! Great report!
ReplyDeleteWe are sooooo very glad the plot to kidnap Bo was squashed...We bet the squirrel cartel hired that guy!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Mum read about the plot to steal Bo, and we were both very glad it was foiled. There was an article in today's paper that mum read to me about a dog who had gotten scared when her owner had an accident; he got out of the car and was gone for 599 days!!! People tried to catch him, but he was too wily -- he was finally caught in a trap specially set up for him!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW--mum wants to know the easiest way to get your mum's books. Can she get them on Amazon? If your mum could send my mum an e-mail (jskhackney23@hotmail.com) she would like to get them for when she is convalescing after her knee revision surgery next week.

ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Great news,as always! We see Yorkies are on the non destructive list. While Dog mom says that's true she says I'm VERY mischievous. She never thought she'd be "baby proofing" for her fur kid but I've figured out how to get into cupboards! BOL ~Shasta

Another good newscast!! I wonder if Plott Hounds are one of the most destructive. Miss Cocoa is good at destroying her toys for sure. Hope you all are having a nice day!!

Great stories this week, guys, we hadn't heard any of these! Cricket does take exception to being on the most destructive dog list...she says her siblings are far more destructive than she is and should definitely be on most destructive list! In fact she's surprised their names aren't right on there...LOL.
