BFTB NETWoof News October 24, 2016

Bentley: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for October 24, 2016. I am your newshound Bentley Basset and joining me, as always, is my co-anchor Pierre Westie. We have fetched some great stories for you, so let’s get right to it. Pierre, what is our top story?”
BFTB NETWoof News celebrates our 1,000th blog post
Pierre: “You are not going to believe it, but Barking from the Bayou is our top story. This is our 1,000th blog post and we want to thank all of our fun-tastic readers for our success. Our weekly newscast celebrated its 2-year anniversary in September and we could not be prouder. Remember, we still have a few bandanas available for anyone who shares a news story that we use. BFTB NETWoof News reports on a Lab that survived a month trapped in a well

Bentley: “I hope that a pay increase is included in this momentous occasion. Just sayin’. We have the story of a dog surviving its fall into a well. Bruno, the chocolate Lab went missing on September 17th when he didn’t come home for dinner. His human searched and had almost given up all hope when his other two other Labs found their missing friend during a walk on October 14th. Bruno was in bad condition but thanks to the intensive care from his veterinary team, he will recover. They believe he survived drinking melted snow that had already fallen in the Canadian province where he lives. This is a fairly common problem with dogs falling into wells. Perhaps we need a public service announcement reminding folks to make sure that any wells on their property are securely covered or fenced.”
BFTB NETWoof Dog News reports on a BSU football tee retriever

Pierre: “Don’t you worry, I feel certain that I would be able to find you if you ever fell into a well. It’s who I am as a Westie, you know…heroic. Enough about me, let’s talk about that dog on the sidelines of Boise State University football games. I hope that Paisley doesn’t get the big head but it is another Labrador Retriever report! The BSU tradition of a dog running out to fetch the kickoff tee began in the 1990’s and continues to be a fan favorite. The current retriever, Cowboy Kickoff Cole is a 6-year-old black Lab and he loves his job. You can watch him in action here. Bentley, I took the liberty of using your photo for the story because you do look good in an LSU uniform.”
BFTB NETWoof dog news reports on sloth having the slowest metabolism on the planet.
Bentley: “That is so cool. Yes, I think the LSU Tigers should let me be their tee hound. I know one animal that could never get the job and that’s a sloth. Research has shown that a sloth has the slowest metabolism of any animal on the planet. They move so little that it is common for moss to grow on their backs. I would look like a greyhound moving next to one. Ugh! This makes me want to get up, stretch my legs and go for a walk. I don’t want moss growing on me!”
BFTB NETWoof dog sports congratulates Margarita on her BHA Rat Instinct title

Pierre: “A walk sounds great, but let’s tackle the sports first. The beautiful Margarita from Cello’s Corner has become quite the ratter. She recently won her first title in the Barn Hunt Association Rat Instinct title. We are so proud of her for this new award."
BFTB NETWoof Weather with Paisley the Weather Lab.
Paisley: “That is Hooch’s sister so she is bound to be awesome! It was very nice of y’all to share some Labrador Retriever stories this week. I guess it is pretty quiet around the studio without me. It is really terrific here in my new home. I’ve met some other dogs at the dog park and they are all very nice. Nobody has even noticed my southern drawl. As far as the weather forecast, we will have some rain here in the northwest but the temperatures will be pleasant. There will be a few showers this week across the northern states that will be in New York by the latter part of the week. Oklahoma could see some rain midweek but most of the country will have fantastic fall weather. Our friend Oz the Terrier will be happy to know that Florida is looking sunny with temps in the 80’s all week. Really, the only place with temperatures in the 90’s will be the Phoenix area. As always, our weather can change in the blink of an eye so tune into your local weather if inclement weather heads your way. Love you guys! See ya next week and congrats on the 1,000 blog post.”
Bentley: “Thanks, Paisley. Be sure to give your family a kiss from us. We’d like to thank our readers once more for their continued support. We hope that you join us each day this week for more fun. Remember that we have TWO contests going on and you don’t want to miss a chance to win. We are giving away 3 canisters of Dr. Harvey’s E-mune Boost and one lucky winner will win a PetSafe® KeepSafe® Break-Away collar! Our Dr. Harvey’s contest ends Tuesday at midnight so don’t dilly-dally. Good luck to everyone. Have a terrific week and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”
