Bentley Basset: “Greetings and welcome to another good news report from your BFTB NETWoof News team. Before Pierre shares our top story, I’d like to take a moment to say thank you for the wonderful birthday wishes that I’ve received here on the blog, on Facebook and Instagram. It fills my heart with love to know so many of you thought of me. I am one lucky Hound! Pierre?”
Pierre Westie: “It was quite an exciting birthday and I appreciate you sharing your treats and toys with me. That was cool. Let’s get to our top story. As many of you have seen over the past week, wildfires have caused major destruction in the Gatlinburg,
Tennessee. Any fire causes death and injury to those animals that call the forest their home. We are happy to report there are caring people rescuing these animals and relocating them. Employees from the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies are helping to locate pets and animals around their facility. They are also visiting homes that were evacuated to check on any pets left behind. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this tragedy. I love reporting on humans being kind.”

Bentley: “If that’s the case, you are going to enjoy this report. A teenage boy in Arizona was on his school bus when he saw smoke billowing from his home. He had the bus driver stop and he leapt from the bus and raced to his back door. He hollered a couple of times and thankfully, his 9-year-old Bulldog, Zack came walking out to him. The young man said he wasn’t scared for himself but had to save his dog because he is family. Nobody else was in the home when the fire broke out.”
Pierre: “From fires to water, this story is about a koala bear that was saved after he tried to cross a river in Australia. Wildlife officials had been notified but it was obvious that the little fellow could not wait. A volunteer for the Great Victoria Bike Ride waded out into the water to help pull him to safety. He used a branch that the koala was able to hold onto as he was brought back to land. The entire rescue was captured on video.”
Bentley: “Before we toss it over to our amazing Weather Lab for this week’s forecast, I want to remind you to enter for a chance to win our biggest giveaway ever! Thanks to our sponsors, we are able to make one of our readers very happy. If you have already entered, fetch your free points each day by tweeting and picking up your party favor point. I hear it is going to look a lot like Christmas in many parts of the country this week. What’s the story, Paisley?”
Paisley: “T’was three weeks before Christmas and all through the northern states, snow will be falling; better dust off your skates. Hee hee! Seriously, we are going to have some snowfall from the Washington to Maine and even in the middle of the country. If you aren’t getting snow, you will probably be experiencing some rain. The southern states can expect scattered storms that will travel up the east coast later in the week. Temperatures are going to be much cooler except for the west coast. Folks in northern California will have some late showers but SoCal will remain sunny and warm. As always, tune into your local weather station for updates and warnings in your area. I hope everyone has a terrific week no matter what the weather.
Happy belated birthday, Bentley!”
Bentley: “Thanks, Paisley. We want to express our sincere sadness over the loss of so many of our Blogville pet friends this past week. We remember Easy, Sammy, Fiona, and Bhu. Your paw prints will last forever. It’s a reminder that we need to love and enjoy each other every day because tomorrow might be too late. You can leave your condolences on Blogville POTP (Power of the Paw) website.
We have a great week ahead with my birthday recap, some great new toys and how to make sure your pet doesn’t become a Grinch this holiday season. Believe me; you won’t want to miss a day.
I hope that we gave you something to smile about this week. Stay safe and be sure to grab yourself some happy!”
