Pierre Westie: “As we all know when there is a natural disaster, humans often rely on specially trained dogs to help. That was the case last week in Mexico when a horrible earthquake hit and trapped people beneath the rubble. A Golden Retriever named Frida, who is deployed by the Mexican navy, has been called in to help. She is equipped with protective goggles and boots so she can search without getting injured. Frida is being hailed a hero for her rescue work.”

Pierre: “This next story seems to be taken from the pages of The Returns 2~ Showstoppers.←affiliate link You know, it’s Mom’s book that has me on the cover. The book’s plot focuses on the Returns trying to stop a ring of dognappers and it is a fun-filled adventure. The real-life dognapping that recently happened in Washington state was not fun. Police were able to find the RV with ten dogs inside. It was stolen from the owner on Friday and recovered Saturday. Thankfully, all the dogs were okay and one person was taken into custody.”
Bentley: “Police officers are ready to respond to any crisis but a recent emergency was not an everyday occurrence. A goose was biting the police car and refused to stop. She was honking as if she wanted the officer’s attention. He decided to follow her and was surprised when she led him to one of her goslings entangled in a balloon string. His partner came to help and they were able to free the baby much to the delight of its mom. The officers remind everyone about the dangers of balloons when they are let go. They always come down and can cause a lot of trouble for wildlife.
Paisley the Weather
Lab: “This
is the first full week of fall but I don’t think anyone told Mother Nature. The
northeast coast will continue to be warm and even hot all the way down to
Florida. If you live in the Carolinas, please keep an eye on Hurricane Maria.
She is not expected to make landfall but could cause trouble with riptides.
Showers
and storms are on tap for the center of our country and along the Gulf Coast.
Those living in the north will have partly cloudy along with mild weather but
it’s still going to be warmer than normal. The west coast should be warm with
temps getting hotter the further south you live.
As
always, keep up-to-date on any weather changes with your local stations. Take
care and have a great week.”
Bentley: “Thank you, Paisley.
We are ready for some cooler days down here on the Bayou.
On
behalf of the BFTB News team, we hope our readers enjoyed today’s report. We would
love you to share us with your friends. This is going to be a fun week as we

As
we sign off, take care and be sure to grab yourself some happy!”

DeleteGreat report!
ReplyDeleteWhen Dad was younger,(and dinosaurs walked the earth) he had a job in a paper mill for a while. There was a feral cat that lived there who always happened to show up at lunch time to collect his pay, which was nibbles from everybody's lunches.
I can imagine that a paper mill is another place where cats would be very useful! I'm glad that it was fed by the employees. That's sweet.
DeleteWe can always count on you for great stories on Monday!

Thanks a lot, boys. Mommy showed us that story about Frida the Golden Retriever saving lives in Mexico. She went on and on about what a great dog Frida is and all the great work she's done. And then she had the nerve to look at the two of us, lounging on our beds with our toys and waiting for our food to be prepared, and she said, "So what have you girls done lately?"
