It is already the weekend and we are happy to join Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by our pals 15 & Meowing and McGuffy’s Reader.
•
October is the perfect time to sit on the back porch and enjoy our morning
coffee while the dogs play.
•
Halloween means carloads of trick or treaters will be descending upon our
neighborhood dressed in fun costumes and cruising for candy.
•
Every October, I look forward to the leaves turning red and gold.
•
My experience with the supernatural world is only in my dreams and when pets
that have left me make themselves known.
My day lilies are
still blooming!
These have beautiful
ruffled edges.
My Purple Heart
ground cover is blooming.
The flowers are small
and delicate.
Purple Heart or Purple
Queen is extremely easy to grow in the south.

ReplyDeleteThank you! They are usually finished blooming by now so this is an extra treat.
DeleteMom can remember purple heart houseplants long ago when she grew them. They're beautiful - both the leaves and the flowers!
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty and I love the little flowers. I like that they are easy to grow too. LOL!
DeleteHappy Friday! Those day lilies are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you! They are some of my favorites.
DeleteOur lilies died a while ago. We have some other fall flowering bushes, but no bright colors anymore. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe still have a lot of flowers because it is still summer down here! UGH!
DeleteYour day lilies are just breathtaking--I've never seen the purple flowers but I know where they would look good in my yard
ReplyDeleteThank you! If you can find a cutting of the Purple heart, it will grow like crazy!
DeleteGhostwriter just cut down the last of the browned leaves of our day lilies to prepare for winter. We had a few of those purple flowers this summer. But they're long gone too. Glad you can enjoy these flowers where you are!
ReplyDeleteOur day lilies keep blooming but it still feels like August here so that's probably why.
DeleteBeautiful flowers and great plug ins!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Thanks, Doods!
DeleteI really miss purple hearts...It's one of the southern flowers that you don't see up here! Thanks for joining us for Flower Friday this week!

DeleteWe love October's cool mornings and warm sunshine in the afternoon. Our leaves are just starting to turn bright red, orange and yellow. Your lilies are beautiful! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to be able to sit on the back patio in the mornings. I hope our leaves turn soon.
DeleteBeautiful lillies and purple heart ground cover. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers.I am so jealous you get trick or treaters, we never get any. Have a nice weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteThank you! Actually, we don't have as many trick or treaters as we used to when our kids were young. We had over 1,000 back then. Dominos even set up a pizza truck at the corner to sell pizzas to the parents! It was great fun.
DeleteSuch beautiful flowers! Wow! I love Autumn and coffee with the dogs is exactly up my alley! Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThere is something extra special about cool mornings, coffee and dogs, isn't there?
DeleteOctober is a great month. Here it is Spring...just warming up enough to sit outside with coffee and book, but cool enough for walks.
ReplyDeleteI forget that you are down under! We don't usually have much of a winter here but it does get chilly overnight closer to December.
DeleteOctober is such a nice month, isn't it? Your flowers are gorgeous. I had one daylily open last week....I think it was a bit behind the times but it was fun to see it when most everything else is starting to die off.
