Pierre Westie: “In a huge scientific study it was concluded
that having a dog is good for your health. The study showed people who live
with a dog are less likely to die from cardiovascular disease. That is because
we help people be more social and get exercise. We can’t walk ourselves, you
know. This is another one of those in-depth ‘Duh’
research projects that pet parents have realized all along.”

Bentley: “A rare fossil shark
was captured off Portugal recently. Its ancestry goes back some 80 million
years! Scientists say it hasn’t changed appearance since the age of T-Rex. The
creature’s 300 teeth might have something to do with its survival. You can
check out this video to see what it looks like in real life.
Pierre: “A reward of $100,000
is being offered for the return of two Guinness World record cats in the
Detroit area. Arcturus, Cygnus and two other cats have been missing since their
home was engulfed in fire last week. The home-owners escaped and left the doors
open in hopes their cats could get out safely. They should be easy to recognize
since Arcturus is a spotted Savannah that measures 19.5” tall and holds the record
for the world’s tallest cat. Cygnus is a fluffy Maine Coon cat with a 17.5”
long tail! They are big social media stars and everyone is praying for a safe
return of these record breaking felines. You can see photos of them by visiting
the site listed in our news sources section below.”

Bentley: “Let’s face it; some
animals are not meant to be kept as pets. A San Francisco couple realized this after
bringing home ‘Spirit,’ an adorable wild boar piglet. Three months later, it is
not so cute anymore. The law prohibits keeping a wild boar as a pet in
California. The fact Spirit was turned into the the local animal control is a
good example why this law was enacted. Please leave wild animals out in the
wild.”

Pierre: “We want to turn our
noses to sports and congratulate our buddy Bailie from My GBGV Life. She earned
her Nose Work 2 title by finding all 8 hides in the 5 searches. You might remember
that she just captured her Level 1 Exterior title only a week earlier! Bailie
is rocking the Nose Work world and we are so proud of her and her mom!”
Paisley the Weather Lab:
“The
GBGV gang is going to need a room just for their awards and titles! Speaking of
awards, this week’s weather should get a gold star. Except for the Pacific
Northwest, most of the United States can be thankful for sunny skies.
The
PNW will have rain and wind that could impact flights out of their airports and
making holiday travel a nightmare. I’d suggest checking conditions before you
head out to avoid problems.
The
rest of the northern states are going to be cold and fair with possible snow in
North Dakota and the Great Lakes regions. The center of our country should
count on dry, calm and sunny weather. The east coast and the southern states
are going to be able to get out and visit with family or hit the stores on
Black Friday since the forecast calls for excellent weather. It will be partly cloudy
along the west coast but it’s warm and sunny for the southwestern U.S.
It
is estimated that over 51 million people will be traveling for Thanksgiving. Remember
to check the weather for any updates or warnings so that your Thanksgiving trip
will be safe and fun.”
Bentley: “We have some really
exciting things coming up during the holidays. On November 27, we are joining a
group of our blogging friends for a fantastic the 4 Gifts for Pets Blog Hop & Giveaway. You could win some
great prizes so stay tuned for more information.
This
week will be hectic for most of us that are cooking or hitting the road for
Thanksgiving, but we will have some wonderful articles to share so don’t forget
to stop by and visit.
On
behalf of the BFTB News team, we want you to know how very thankful we are for
our readers, sponsors and supporters. Each of you make our days brighter and we
want you to go out and grab yourself some happy!

I hope the cats find their way home ... I guessed it that peeps with dogs have a better and healthier life... that's worth an eggs-tra chewing bone for me... right, the mama?
ReplyDeleteWe all are saving their lives daily. We should be rewarded handsomely!
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving! Great news that dogs help peeps be healthier!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! We have to keep these peeps moving along so they can continue to spoil us.
DeleteSo sad those kitties are missing! I have to say wild boar are very dangerous animals who don't mind killing humans. They are a big problem in Germany and one has to stay away from them. Thanks for mentioning our current nose work ace. We are so proud of her. Mom's office walls are filling fast with all the awards! Happy Thanksgiving week. We are thankful to have your family as friends!
ReplyDeleteWe have wild boar here and people hunt them. They are ginormous!! Thanks for letting us share Bailie's sporting accomplishments. We are proud!
DeleteOh yes, I am always dragging my peeps out fur walkies, I nose it does then good!!!!

Deletewe also hope those kitties are found...and cant believe someone would bring home a wild boar piglet..*sigh*!
ReplyDeleteA big congrats to Miss Bailie!!
xoxo,
Jakey, Arty & Rosy
Wild boars are cute but they usually have a wild boar mom and she would not be cute. LOL!
DeleteGreat report!
ReplyDeleteComing from a fellow reporter, that means so much! Thanks!
DeleteWe want money to do one of those studies that show how important dog are to a healthy life and help us live longer. We would just throw a dog party and publish the results.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! Where we can we sign up?
DeleteDidn't need a study to know all the benefits of pet ownership but some people need them (and I hope they will subscribe to a great way of living longer & better!). Fingers and paws crossed for those famous cats. And a thump on the head to the people who thought it was a good idea adopting a wild boar. Have a pawsome Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThe boys motivate us to get out and move. It does all of us a world of good. People just don't use their brains enough, do they? LOL!
DeleteWhat a great news report! Congrats to Bailie!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Thanks, Doods! Are y'all staying home for Thanksgiving?
Delete300 teeth I cannot imagine the cost of cleaning all of them...it would take 87 years and 87 million bucks I bet
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
300 teeth! Now that's a smile. SHE had a pet racoon when young. Found as an injured baby along the road. Had to be returned to the wild when he matured, so understand about the cute little piglet.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Bailie!
ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't for my dogs, I would hibernate all winter! They truly do help you to get more exercise, and to be healthier.
ReplyDeleteThat wild boar piglet was so cute! I can see the attraction, but people need to use common sense!
Those GBGV girls are always doing something amazing!
Jan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Thank you for all the news! The fossil shark sounds super cool, and I love the congrats to our GBGV pals!

Oh no, I hope those kitties are found too!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Thanksgiving in Shreveport! Here's hoping LSU wins this weekend. I'm sure my dad will be glued to the tv. I like to remind these Boston folks who don't know anything about college football that LSU is playing, lol. I usually get a few scowls.
Having many dogs is so good for my life.
