Bentley Basset Hound:
“Hello
and welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof news. We have once again fetched some
excellent stories that should make you smile. Pierre, what’s our top story?”
Pierre Westie: “You know we love a
sweet rescue story, so we chose the story of a man’s travels to rescue his best
friends. Michael Henn is a member of Nebraska’s National Guard and went to the
island of St. Croix to help after Hurricane Maria. That is where he met two
dogs and knew he had to make them part of his family. The dog’s owners had
recently passed away and Henn was assured that he could adopt them. It wasn’t
quite as simple as he was led to believe but soon the two dogs were waiting for
him in a North Carolina shelter. After a twenty-hour drive, he was reunited
with the dogs. We know they will be having a very happy holiday season this year!”
Bentley: “We have all seen the
stories of innocent animals being injured or killed while thoughtless humans
try to take selfies with them. Instagram has issued a ban on photos that could
endanger exotic animals. Any posts using hashtags like #koalaselfie #lionselfie
or #tigerpet will be removed and the person searching those words will see a
pop-up warning. Hopefully, it will help keep the wildlife safe.”
Pierre: “We don’t report on
human politics. Everyone has their own opinions and it is usually not a funny
or feel good story. However, we simply couldn’t help but share this funny
story. Two security dogs reacted to a crate prior to a Miami art show opening.
Police shut down the area while the suspicious crate was opened. The dogs had
reacted to a portrait of Hillary Clinton sporting shaggy pink hair and a
studded jacket! It was shocking but completely safe.”
Bentley: “I saw the painting
and I’d have alerted to it too. Speaking of shocking, I want this to serve as a
warning to our feline friends. George, a cat in London was let out the kitchen
window for its morning stroll in the garden and when he returned, someone was
sleeping in his bed! A fox had entered the window and was asleep in the cat’s
bed on the window sill. Poor George had hissed and fussed but the fox ignored
him. When the lady of the house woke up and walked passed the kitchen, she
realized that was not her cat in the bed! She managed to move the fox out of
the window but said it left a horrible smell. They need to change that saying
to ‘when the cat’s away, the fox will
play and steal his bed’.”
Paisley the Weather
Lab: “I
haven’t seen any fox, but we have deer in our woods. They have never tried to
take my bed or place on the couch. That would freak me out!
The
weather forecast isn’t too freaky this week. That’s a big difference since last
week there was snow in Texas and Louisiana! We will be back to more normal
temps in the 70’s during the day. I’m expecting mild and sunny weather all
along the southern states. The west coast will continue to be dry and warm
which is not much help to the fires in California. I wish there was rain in the
forecast. Please stay safe out there.
Our
friends in the PNW will have sunny skies but as we go along to the northern
states, it changes from cool to downright cold with snow storms likely. If you
live in the center of our country, enjoy a pleasant week with sunshine and mild
temperatures.
As
always, stay tuned to your local weather for updates and warnings.”
Bentley: “We want to remind
you to enter for a chance to win one of three awesome prize packages in The Decade of Bentley giveaway. You can fetch free points each day so hop over to
our entry page. We will have the winners on Wednesday, our fourth blogiversary.

ReplyDeleteWe love a reunion story! It fills us with happy feelings.
DeleteGood for Instagram - people can be so thoughtless
ReplyDeleteI can't understand why someone would want to disturb a poor animal for their own selfie.
DeleteGreat news report! Glad things are warming up for you in Texas. It's still snowing here in WNY!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Paisley loves being in Texas.
DeleteThat crazy fox...talk about opportunistic!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe the nerve?! That would have freaked me out.
DeleteWell....we aren't too happy with cats, so we're glad the fox got in its bed. We had to take three detours on our morning walk because of cats. Also, we love happy stories, glad those dogs found a new loving home.
ReplyDeleteUh-oh! It sounds like you have a kitty problem. We only have a couple of outside cats in our neighborhood. One likes to sit in our treehouse and drive the boys crazy. BOL!
